Loved this song. I had it on a 33” K-Tel compilation album.
42 years ago? Can’t be.

It’s such a simple tune.....I never cared much for it but I played it all the time because it was one of the ones guaranteed to get the girls out on the dance floor.

They also just used this song in an Amazon prime ad in the last few days.

Jenny was sweet.
There is no elite. Classic lyrics. :)

A week later,
I did it again with a carload of school pals that said I was lying.

That song didn't come out until 1978.
Back then it was probably Rolling stones - Satisfaction.

It sounds as though it was written for The Cars.

The whole album is pretty good. I saw them when they opened for Kenny Loggins after Drivers Seat came out, but I don’t know if they toured after that.

I still listen to this song pretty regularly. I like to call it the “second fastest driving song of all time”.

Like that song enough it’s on my jukebox.

I found the awesome video for this song once. It is far better than any other video. Rare to find a video that so top notch for a song. Just don’t watch if you have a significant other standing over your shoulder or you might get in trouble.

Always enjoyed that song. Funny, I hadn’t heard it for years, until a buddy sent me a link for it some months ago. After I listened to it, made me go out and buy it!
