At 16, in 1967, I got my Dad's 1966 Chrysler Newport up to 110 mph.
A week later,
I did it again with a carload of school pals that said I was lying.

Back then it was probably Rolling stones - Satisfaction.

The Newport was a nice looking car. This was what the inside of my Dad's '68 model looked like except his also had an 8-track mounted under the dash. I learned how to drive in that car and passed my road test with it too.

Check out the AM only radio. Everything was pretty much single function and very basic. A perfect car for a kid to drive on a hot summer night with the windows down and the radio blaring.

had a 68 Newport with 383 passed everything on the road but a gas station 8 mpg
