A fourth coronavirus vaccine is making its way to the United States.
Health experts say the vaccine, Covavax, is the most effective to date showing protection against the original COVID-19 strain, but also against variants of concern. Covavax is the Indian brand name for Novavax, the American Company that developed the vaccine.
Researchers from 113 sites across the country assessed 29,000 infected patients. Results of the study showed it was 100% effective against the original SARs-CoV-2 and 93% against the alpha and delta strains, both of which are on the World Health Organization’s list of variants of concern.
But what’s so special about Covavax compared to Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson?
“What they are doing is producing a protein that is immunogenic, which seems to be a stable part of the coronavirus as the virus mutates,” Dr. Christopher Doehring, vice president of medical affairs at Franciscan Health, told News 8. “Their proprietary piece helps [the vaccine] to be delivered into the human body and allows the immune system to recognize it effectively and develop a robust response.”
Not only does Covavax offer high protection, Doehring says, but side effects are milder compared to other vaccines. Reported side effects include tenderness at the injection site, headache and slight fatigue. On average, symptoms lasted for three days.
The European Union has sealed a deal with the pharmaceutical company responsible for developing the vaccine, Novavax. They will be purchasing 200 million doses, which is a two-shot protocol, of the vaccine.
Novavax is expected to apply for emergency use authorization in the U.S. by the end of the year.

As I understand it the protein in Norovax is the spike protein. Very narrow pressure that the virus has already figured out a way around. And may I remind people, there are problems with these spike proteins floating around your body.
The only thing this one has going for it is at least it does not turn your body into a spike protein factory.
I do not believe covid ever rose to the level of needing a rushed traditional vaccine much less experimental ones.
Also where is the traditional attenuated virus vaccine? I mean we have it isolated right? Why no attenuated virus vaccine? At least these types your body gets introduced to the whole of the virus, not just a bunch of free floating spike protein.

Honestly, with a notorious mutator such as a coronavirus, I am unsure if any vaccine will work. But I find it curious, to say the least, that there is no attenuated virus vaccine in the US. Seems there would be a market for it, instead we seem hell bent on only using experimentals.
Experimental vaccines and no early treatment with proven medicines allowed.
The total lack of any funding/research into treatments is one of the biggest red flags of this whole ordeal.

Your definitions are too severe. Even the flu pandemic of 1918 did not feature “body-bagged corpses being loaded onto flat bed trucks in the streets.”
Well the average American and certainly every media outlet is treating this thing as if there’s a lot of death. And there’s not. Tell me a time in your life when you went to the hospital even when you didn’t feel sick or have any symptoms yet you went to get checked to see if you were “sick?” That’s where we are in this crazy world of ours. People are getting tested for some thing where they have no symptoms. The tests are faulty and inaccurate. And then the media takes those falsified numbers and blast them all over the television sets in on our iPhones. And we run around like mindless zombies thinking we’re all gonna die. And because of those unreliable numbers people like you think we are in a pandemic. It’s a bunch of hogwash. Turn off the TV and live your life.
