When 50,000 truckers can’t delivery your food, toilet paper and fuel, it will get interesting.
The cars won’t be idling long as the gas stations will be as empty as the grocery stores.
Raising another question: who exactly will be manning these check points? The stretched thin and defunded police? Or the military?
That would not stop the logistic nightmare. This is a silly thing to even contemplate.

I think you are correct, the elites have built the deep state to protect their assets and their sorry asses, yet they seem to want to dump on their creation at times. IF-IF the deep state turns on them the deep state goons have a chance if things go south against the mob. If the deep state sides with the elites and things go south, they will rule for a while but eventually as with history repeating itself they will all swing somewhere down the road after a bloody and nasty mess more than likely.

This is a very real proposal which is very likely to be enacted.
My opinion, for what it’s worth, is that most people will go along and a smaller group (but still a majority) will demand strong measures against dissent.
I deal with COVID and the public every day, so the people I encounter may not be representative of the nation as a whole.
But this site, in my opinion, consistently overstates resistance to interventions to attenuate COVID, and I bet this will be no exception. In general, restrictions are very, very popular and most negativity coming from the public is of the “why are you not doing more” rather than, “I want you to do less”.

Who’s going to enforce it? The FBI going to sit at checkpoints at every state border crossing?
