Scientists from Germany and Belgium have recently described the immunogenicity of a plant-based virus-like particle vaccine against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The vaccine induces robust antibody and T cell responses for at least 6 months. Moreover, the vaccine demonstrates potent neutralizing efficacy against the B.1.1.7, B.1.351, and P1 variants of SARS-CoV-2. The study is currently available on the medRxiv* preprint server.
...In the current study, the scientists have described the robustness and durability of immune responses induced by an AS03-adjuvanted, plant-based virus-like particle vaccine containing full-length spike protein of wildtype SARS-CoV-2 as an immunogen....
... the magnitude of reactivity was higher for vaccinated individuals. In addition, significantly higher levels of cross-reactive antibodies against the SARS-CoV spike protein were observed in vaccinated sera compared to that in convalescent sera.

A case of COVID treated prophylactically to prevent serious long term health issues does too.
It’s interesting to me that they keep coming up with new ways to fight without using a weakened form of the virus like every vaccine created heretofore. What’s the difference? Why is it that now they’re not isolating the SARS-COV2 virus itself and using it as a blueprint? Something doesn’t smell right to me.
George washington figured this out and it is a very big part of why we are not ruled by the Brits
I think it was with small pox
Can I get it in watermelon flavor?
Another vaccine that is against the spike protein, but not the virus it is attached to.
With assertions that the spike protein itself is damaging to the body, I find it curious that scientists believe introducing it into the body appears to be the favored way to induce immunity against the virus.
Still unnecessary for the WuFlu that has a 99.95+% recovery rate.
Oh, great!
Take your stats to the hospitals and ICUs and let them know that those people aren’t actually there, as well as the many, many long haulers who have suffered many months or a year or more and may never fully recover that these treatments and preventions “aren’t necessary.”
We need to make arguments on the basis of objective reality. Not simply what we want to hear or want to be true. That doesn’t get us anywhere.
Weakened and killed virus vaccines are more expensive, time consuming, and difficult to develop and have greater safety issues than other, newer methods that use only antigens from the target virus.
The irony of your statement isn’t lost on me.
One of the attractions of antigen based vaccines is to minimize such risks. In addition, using modified bacteria or plants to produce the antigens is quicker, cheaper, and safer than using millions of eggs to produce viruses for vaccines.
