They’re probably right. But George Costanza never had any problems with his secret one-word password, “bosco”.

Three word passwords in and of themselves isn’t going to get the job done.

Not when you need a capital letter, a number, and a symbol like %.

I have never understood the brute force method of breaking passwords.

Every important website I use just allows three wrong password attempts before they require you to answer questions, change your password, and confirm a random code sent to your registered email address.

How does brute force get past the three wrong password attempts issue?

Make your password at least 60 characters, with no fewer than 12 each of capitals, numerals, and special characters, and mix everything up in a completely random sequence. Then write it on a Post-it and stick it on the edge of your monitor, because you’ll never be able to remember it.

I had to spell that in seventh grade English.

I just don’t do any critical tasks online. No banking, no online bill-paying, no medical information, nothing.

Breaking my password to blog accounts like FR isn’t going to do them any good.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Per FR spell check that is the correct spelling.

The wife can spell that backwards.

I’ve always used two non-related words, divided by 3 digits, along with a symbol at the beginning or end. If a capital letter is required, it’s one of the middle letters.

They’re always rated ‘Strong’ or ‘Very Strong’.
