The “Woke Olympics” have been going on for a while. I’m not sure when it started or when it’s over as I have no interest in watching what has been billed as an athletic indictment against the greatest nation on earth.
Thanks to American wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock, I may have to pay more attention. It seems that there are actual Olympians representing this country in Tokyo with the pride that was once indicative of the God-given opportunity. Watch the glee, humility, and patriotism exuding from this amazing person after winning the gold medal for women’s wrestling:
Here’s an Olympic athlete worth rooting for https://t.co/2qAWx5loTO

Unabashedly, she gave all glory to God.
“Of course I surprise myself,” she began. “It’s by the grace of God I’m able to even move my feet! I just leave it in His hands, and I pray that all the practice, the hell that my freaking coaches put me through pays off, and ever single time it does, and I get better and better.”
Mensah-Stock, 28, made history Tuesday when she became only the second woman — and the first black woman — to win an Olympic wrestling gold medal for Team USA in the women’s 68-kilogram freestyle final, according to NPR.
She was asked by a reporter how she felt about representing the US. She replied, “It feels amazing! I love representing the US! I freaking love living there. I love it and I’m so happy I get to represent U-S-A! I love it!”
Expressing patriotism for America and giving glory to God for her accomplishments may not be the “woke” responses to questions from the press, but it’s the faithful Christian’s and true American’s response.
Her joy is real, and it is shared by many other Americans.
Good for her! If she gets an endorsement deal, I’ll support her by purchasing whatever she’s pitching. But it’s incredibly sad than a US Olympic athlete who actually expresses pride in her country is considered so unusual.
congratulations to her!
She’s married, too— to a lucky man.
Heartwarming interview
She is one of us, and we are so proud of her achievements !
Good for her!
So sad that the anti-American punks have ruined it for everyone. I used to watch the Olympics quite closely.
No more.
Her contemporaries all love to show off their **ATTITUDE**
She pulls 2 extra letters out of her pocket and changes everything. **GRATITUDE**
And with that dignity is restored and shame hangs its head
❤️
HOORAY FOR HER!!!
So she is literally, an African-American. Just like reporter Lara Logan.
And another patriotic and God-honoring American, Sydney McLaughlin, won GOLD in the Women’s 400m hurdles today. She beat her own World Record, which she set not 2 weeks ago at the US Qualifying Trials.
I remember what she said after she made the team....that she gave all the glory to Yeshua and trusted Him with however it turned out.
It’s stuff like THIS and the GRATEFUL athlete in the OP that is the reason WHY I like following the Olympics. Among the crud there are ALWAYS the shining examples of character.
The activist athletes get too much attention, even when they don’t do well.
These other athletes - like Tamyra and Sydney - are the ones we should be talking about.
God bless her!
David Taylor, Penn State, (St Paris Graham, Ohio) 86kg
David Taylor-Hassan Yazdani III is on.
Taylor is seeking his first Olympic medal after missing out on the U.S. wrestling team at the Rio Olympics. He will compete in the men’s freestyle 86kg final against Yazdani of Iran after beating Belarus’ Ali Shabanau in his opening match, San Marino’s Myles Nazem Amine in the quarterfinals and India’s Deepak Punia in Wednesday’s semifinal tilt. The American beat his first three opponents by a combined 33-2 score.
Taylor and Yazdani have a rivalry that dates back to 2017. Taylor upset the 2016 Olympic gold medalist in their first matchup at the 2017 World Cup. Their second matchup came at the 2018 world championships, and Taylor emerged victorious once again. Yazdani has not lost a match since, setting up a spectacular final on Thursday.
Amidst a flood of “Meh” God yet again delivers a rainbow.
Yeah, I bet like JB himself, SHE FEELS GOOD.
