I think a great many people feel differently about Simone after this little caper. If she was that messed up mentally, emotionally, why not jump on the next flight home and have Mommy put her to bed?
Instead, she sees her ‘back-up’ Olympians winning without her, even winning Gold, then she got that other kind of fever again, the drive to win and be praised. I’m glad she had to ‘settle for’ Bronze.

Simone did not help the USA medal count.
Two Communist Chinese girls received the gold and silver.
