I think a great many people feel differently about Simone after this little caper. If she was that messed up mentally, emotionally, why not jump on the next flight home and have Mommy put her to bed?

No. She stayed to support her team. And she still wanted to compete. Balance beam is the least jump around and spin around thing gymnasts do, the “easiest” to deal with the twisties. So she gave it a shot. And got a bronze. Good for her. Probably he last event of her career.

Actually, I’m guessing she had an epiphany; like oh $h!t, losers don’t get their pic on a Wheaties box, or do tv commercials, or endorse products! How am I going to make a living? Maybe asking if someone wants to supersize the fries and drink 😂….?
