As Sunisa Lee celebrates her gold medal win in the women's gymnastics all-around final today, the Team USA star has become an instant household name — but who is the 18-year-old gymnast who took the top spot in her first-ever Olympics Games?

Sunisa, who hails from Minnesota, is the daughter of Laotian refugees who fled the country in the wake of the Vietnam War — and she's also the first Hmong-American to represent the United States at the Olympics.

Her road to the Games wasn't an easy one, with the star persevering through personal tragedy after her father was paralyzed in a freak accident in 2019 that left him in a wheelchair.

Even native born Japanese can end up on outs if they go live in another country for long enough. They are no longer considered fully Japanese.

Now, I know that ALL Japanese aren’t like this. But such things are very prevalent.

My only point is that race problems are worse in most places than the USA. Or used to be until the DemonRATs turned up the heat in their attempt to start a race war.

Despite the best efforts of the Marxists and race hustlers amongst us, most of the USA tries to hang onto e pluribus unum and our melting pot ethos.

That was why I originally said I wished Biles could come in contact with Candace Owens. Now I’m truly encouraged by the little Laosian-American from Minnesota stepping up and winning the Individual All Around Gold.

Your point is a good one, and I believe is correct.

My stepdaughter lived out of Japan for almost 10 years. There was increasing pressure from family in Japan to return. She is hopefully coming back to US next year to attend college in US to get another degree.

You likely right, some sort of “I refuse to represent that raciiss place”

SEC was pretty dominant for years between UF, Georgia, Bama and LSU.

Now it’s pretty much Oklahoma and UCLA.

Only if the scum are of the right race, religion, or (their chosen multiple ) sex.

what’s even better was her father built her first balance beam and put it in the front yard. Looked like a couple of 2 x 4’s nailed together.

That’s great! The family is a real inspiration. I hope she gets some great endorsement deals.

I believe you may have meant ‘priggish.’

That said, the individual has a legal right and moral reasoning and moral authority to express his or her opinion.

Is it possible you got ‘woke so quickly you could not type correctly?

At age 64, I felt a pang of disappointment for the young woman, if she is a lesbian. I hope she is not afflicted, that way.

That makes no sense. If that was true, she would have been motivated to win just so she could take a knee on the podium.

No, I meant piggish.

And of course they should post their comments, and expect replies in response to their comments.

No woke here. I did read where someone posted that females will sometimes go to the prom together instead of going alone. That does happen and is perfectly harmless and normal.

Unless someone is looking to make something out of nothing. Wait - no, posters never do that. My bad.

I subscribe to the idea that this is a new type of protest.

One that deprives our country of a potential Olympic medal.

Everyone was saying she was front runner for gold right?

What she didn’t plan on was another team member stepping up and winning gold anyway.

I also have my doubts about a team of arguably the best basketball players on the planet losing to France...but we’ll see how that one turns out.

Having said all that I am pretty paranoid....so there’s that.

Lol

The key quote in the whole article regarding her grandparents move to the US: ‘We know they did it for a reason, so they could be safe and their kids could have a good life,’ Sunisa said of her grandparents’ reasons for fleeing. ‘It’s something very cool for my generation to know they did that for us. And it was all worth it.’

Outstanding
