I believe I understand what you are trying to say, but I think you misunderstand what “off the hook” means (being “off the hook” is a GOOD thing, in modern slang).

Also, Larry Niven rocks. His books are off the hook.

Niven is off the hook and frankly this world is sooooo weird, so crazy that it must be a good thing. As another off the hook gent once said, the times they are a changing, indeed they are.
