Paul tells the inconvenient truth about Simone Biles and her non-performance at the Tokyo Olympics.
A classic case of believing your own press and then crumbling when it turns out not to be accurate after all.
She is not a child any more so I will not treat her like one.
She let her team down.

This! It’s very simple. She quit and let down her teammates and country.
Well, let me follow your logic: Long ago, I was a national class athlete at a major university, competing against other national and international class athletes. Realizing I had reached the limit of my talents, I followed another path. I joined the military and for the next 25 years lived, served and/or fought as part of a team.
I now have Parkinson’s Disease, which is slowly robbing me of my ability to do all the things I’ve loved for my whole life (running, hiking, swimming, etc...). Maybe I’m qualified to respond?
I think she quit on her teammates when they needed her. And instead of bowing out gracefully and letting the focus shift back to her teammates still in competition (and representing our country), she has grabbed the ‘victim’ spotlight and run with it.
Just my thoughts on the matter...

Bless you sir. My take is her handlers are a train wreck. At 24 she is fairly old for that sort of event. If she is slightly off with a medical condition, it is unlikely she will be at top performance levels. I saw a complete meltdown by a person under stress. It was terrible to watch in slo mo high stress environment..
Unless Paul is Biles closest confidant, he doesn’t know the “truth” any more than the rest of us.
There’s plenty of speculating going on, but that’s all it is, speculation, presented with some real hubris on the part of those would be mind readers.
I feel like this is a key part of the story.
Simone Biles has already won multiple titles, including Olympic gold. She has competed while injured. She has proven that she is an elite athlete who can perform under the pressure of competition.
What happened in this situation, who knows. Seems to me there are many factors in play, not the least of which is the paparazzi.
Don't proclaim yourself a GOAT, then quit when you have a bad day, and people won't rag you about it. Well, maybe not as hard; it was still a shitty thing to do to her team mates in any case. They still would have had to preform to get the Gold. Thanks to Ms Biles, they'll never know, now will they?
She is no wimp, she had achieved a lot .
She gave up millions in income by pulling out.
Yes it sucks she pulled for non physical reasons.
Most any other sport you could and should push through and compete.
However in this sport you could suffer serious injury .
And she stepped out of the way to let a teammate have her spot.
Many would have criticized her had she stayed on, competed and blown it.

I’m not a gymnast and wasn’t there. However it’s very easy to sit in our comfy chairs and pronounce judgements on her.
Sunisa Lisa, the daughter of Hmong immigrants. The media won’t hype her and perhaps that’s a good thing from a competitive standpoint in general. Easier to keep focus and not get caught tup in web of toxic press. (And positive, fawning, idolizing press is as equally toxic as negative press.)

Well I don’t read every news item, but I’ve never heard her describe herself in that manner.
She appears to be relatively humble from what I have read, and has also stayed out of the foolish political discussions so many other athletes have engaged in.
For someone who doesn’t have time to watch a short video you sure have plenty of time to put your two cents in. If you ever do get the time you will see that the video is more about the people who reward and celebrate failure than the failure itself.
If you look at the first minute of the video you will see a jeweled goat on her uniform. It wouldn’t be there without her knowledge and approval.
