As a long time member here, I am asking; wouldn't it be better to put the City/State in Parentheses at the end of the title when we all post?
ie: Shooting leaves 4 dead over the weekend (Detroit, MI)
Just a thought, as it would make it easier to know where it happened without having to go to the link for that info only.
Bwahahaha
Acronyms and abbreviations make some posts unreadable.
IKR?
(I know, right?)
I will support you on that suggestion.
Just clicked open an article about a church billboard causing controversy in “Medford” thinking the location was Medford, OR only to find out it was Medford, MA.
Same latitude (approximately) but on opposite coasts.
Minor annoyance but there are many web articles by reporters that just assume their readers will know that (small town) is a suburb of (unnamed big city) in (unspecified) state.
With news reports being picked up off of news feeds from all over the country, the news report that I was confused about very easily could have been about an issue in Medford,OR even though the article was from a television station in Boston.
Heck, many of the most interesting US news stories I read - especially ones embarrassing to the left/liberal/MSM line - I first read in the UK Daily Mail.
It encourages laziness, I believe. Next peeps will want a synopsis of the article...in 14 words or less.
BTTT

You can add it to the title in brackets, ie., [MI] and include the city if it matters.

I know this place has moderators. Why don’t they simply correct these types of problems when they happen?
Yeah, he loved Walla Walla!!
Great idea. So how come you didn’t include a state in the headline OR the comments?
