The #MarsHelicopter’s success today marks its 1-mile total distance flown. It targeted an area called "Raised Ridges." This is the most complex flight yet w/ 10 distinct waypoints and a record height of 40 ft (12 m). Its scouting is aiding @NASAPersevere . http://go.nasa.gov/3dci8jE

The following article is based on the information above, without knowledge about what actually transpired (so far NASA has only published minimal news of the successful flight), but it has a lot of background:

NASA's Mars helicopter nailed its 10th flight — double what engineers had hoped Ingenuity would do

The "little helicopter that could" has done it again.

NASA's Ingenuity helicopter on Mars, a tissue-box-sized rotorcraft that landed with the Perseverance rover in February, completed its 10th flight over the red planet on Saturday.

Each Ingenuity flight has been more daring than the last. So Saturday's flight was likely the helicopter's riskiest yet: If everything went according to plan, Ingenuity climbed 40 feet in the air, then headed south-by-southwest toward a collection of rock features called "Raised Ridges," before looping back around to a landing zone about 310 feet west of its initial takeoff spot.

This Mars helicopter was only intended as a proof of concept. It’s been an amazing success way beyond what was the original goal. Still blows my mind an aircraft can operate in an atmosphere that is only a little bit above the vacuum of space.

Some people have laughed at the "dumb" names given to these little Mars adventurers, but "Ginny" is living up to her name.

Proof of concept: Ingenuity's mission *is* to go beyond all expectations.

I'm a big fan because for one thing, the wee "hovercraft" is a living parable, even for finding life on Mars.

Ingenuity *is* life on Mars. :)

Imagine being the fellow who can honestly claim he goes to work on Mars everyday.

To continue with the concept that the parables-are-the-literal-meanings, I'll add in that on Ingenuity's Hebrew wiki page, the first sentence explains that Ginny is the nickname (lit. "name of affection") for Ingenuity.

With that specific terminology (accurate, as it's more than a type of nickname that lacks affection), an interesting word play occurs:

"שם חיבה ג'יני"

(name of affection - Ginny)

But when a space is opened up inside the word chibah (היבה, "affection") to make two words, the message reads as:

שם חי בה ג'יני

"Shem Chai" bah - Ginny", the *living name* is in her - Ginny.

That's an important detail to observe.

So what, as a name of affection could be any number of names (Honey, Darling, Sweetie...)?

This particular Ginny is a little bit different.

1. She hovers where no man has gone before
2. A common Hebrew term for "ingenuity" is the "power (koach) of invention."
3. She's on Mars, where every day is the third day because the names on Earth for the third day for the week come from Mars. A Sol is a Mars-Day.
4. Mars is the red planet named for this god of war. The description of Mars is the same for King David, why he could not build the Temple for the Name of the Lord God of Israel - he was a man of many wars, and shed much blood.

But his son... let's begin with Mars,

with Ingenuity who was born from Perseverance. Ginny has been flying above Jezero Crater, beyond all expectations:

The image of “hovering” appears at the very beginning of Creation: “And the spirit of God was ‘hovering’ over the water.” The word “hovering” (merachefet) is the eighteenth word in the Torah. It is the first word in the Torah which is numerically a multiple of twenty-six, the value of the Name Havayah (merachefet = 728 = 26 times 28). Twenty-eight is the numerical value of koach, “power.” Thus, the full secret implied by the numerical value of the word “hovering” is “the power of God.” In Kabbalah, this word is, in particular, the secret of the Divine power to resurrect the 288 fallen sparks that “died” in the process of the “breaking of the vessels” (merachefet being a permutation of meit rapach, “288 have died”). The Sages teach us that the “Spirit of God” here referred to is in fact the soul of Mashiach (which permutes to shem chai, “the living name”).

28? The letter chet (8)? Numerology!

ח

While "numerology" is a buzzword commonly used as a name of shame, triggering the programmed minions so that they will turn away from the obvious, I'll point out the obvious from the little preview of The History of the World, Part II:

In-Jew-nuity... Ginny, the soul of the Messiah. It's all kosher!

Just allow a little space in the affection. It's the literal meaning on multiple levels, even found the fine details above the chet that's over the opening in the spacecraft.

It's like the saying about opening a small door --

Our sages interpret a passage from Midrash Rabbah on the Song of Songs (5.3): "Open to me my sister, my bride", as "open a door as tiny as the eye of a needle and I will open your gates wide enough to let carts and horse-drawn carriages drive through".

Question:

How can we open this tiny opening?

Flight 10, with 10 distinct waypoints. "Ten" [eser, עשר], same letters as "gate" [sha'ar, שער]. And more, like rasha (a wicked person, רשע). Just turn him around and laugh. It goes on and on and on, for the simple observation of it all.

Compare yesterday's date with all of the historical action:

Shabbat, July 24, 2021
15 Av, 5781

Joyous Day

Because of the joyous events which occurred on this day (see "Today in Jewish History"), our sages regarded the 15th of Av to be one of the two most auspicious days on the Jewish calendar (the other being Yom Kippur--Talmud, Taanit 26b).

Speaking of holes, I've mentioned here recently that the holy tongue has a name: Punish

Because if it weren't by nature full of holes, Thank God, nobody would get out alive.

Ginny -- the Living Name is in her.

As you can see from the name of the language, woe to those who refuse to listen to and live the levity from the lowest form of humor.

Levites were entrusted with all things Temple to keep the place alive and filled with the Spirit of God, so that the levity wouldn't depart from the house.

Looks like it escaped and filled the whole earth and beyond, to be reborn on Mars.

Raised Ridges, because the soul of the Messiah is in the hidden places on high. It took Ingenuity to check the place out, from above.

Two things:

1. You are WAY overthinking it.

2. You are probably 100% correct.

:)

By nature, I am actually a person habitually "guilty" of extreme understatement.

So if it looks like I am overthinking things, can you imagine what I *don't* mention?

Heh, gotta live a little!

You ever see the fiddle that belongs to the fiddler on the roof?

Priceless! It's located at the Ashmolean Museum, which was named for the man having the first name of

Elias.

Built originally in order to house Elias' cabinet of curiosities.

Curious! The stuff that literally just sits there, because what's in a name?

There's more than one way to bring down the house.

"I hope you come and see me in the movie.."

The "sequel" was a red herring. Well not really, because remember how they combed the desert! :)

NASA's Mars helicopter soars past 1-mile mark in 10th flight over Red Planet

It was Ingenuity's highest flight yet, too.

NASA's Mars helicopter Ingenuity has flown its first mile on the Red Planet.

The small chopper surpassed the 1-mile (1.6 km) mark of its total flight distance on Saturday (July 24) when soared over a rocky region called "Raised Ridges" at its Jezero Crater home. The sortie was the 10th and highest trip yet for Ingenuity, which arrived on Mars with NASA's Perseverance rover in February. Ingenuity's first flight occurred in April.

>>>

Flight 10 was the most challenging yet for Ingenuity, with 10 different waypoints for the helicopter to hit as it flew over its "Raised Ridges" target. It reached a maximum altitude of 40 feet (12 meters), a new record height, and flew about 310 feet (95 m). From take off to landing, the entire flight lasted 165.4 seconds. That's just under 3 minutes.

You ever notice that the symbol uses the iconic Psalm 22 red worm font , NASA red, Pantone color 179 (= venahafoch hu)?

The A is without its crossbar, alluding to a rocket's nose cone/crew capsule.

Of course the word "MARS" includes an A standing next to the M, but the emblem representing the hard-charging little-engine-that-could takes the changes even further by removing the scarlet letter A entirely.

In place of the scarlet letter A stands Ingenuity - Ginny for short, which is typically a nickname for a woman named... Virginia.

Now *that's* ingenuity! It's the very soul of the Messiah, who is on a mission from God.

Ingenuity. I saw it in a movie, just like everybody else. Specifically in the *bar* scene:

Gimme some lovin!

Okay. We gotta figure out something these people like and fast.

What Key?

A

Good Country key!

Rawhide in A!

There's a little bit of devil in her angel eyes
She's a little bit of heaven with a wild side
Got a rebel heart a country mile wide
There's a little bit of devil in her angel eyes

A country mile is a deceptively long distance, an extremely long way. The idea behind a country mile is the fact that most country roads are not in a straight line. Instead, roads in the country tend to meander up and down and all around. This makes it seem as if a mile in the country takes longer to cross than a straight mile in the city. In addition, with the long distances between landmarks that are common in the country, rural people tend to underestimate actual distances whereas urban people tend to overestimate actual distances.

NASA's Mars helicopter Ingenuity has flown its first mile on the Red Planet.

***

A is for Adam, the original "red" man.

Look, this is all serious business. American Man was not only the first man to walk on the Moon, but he was the very first man to walk on Earth!

Come on, this is a no-brainer, because who else listens to his wife?!
