Jesus, Reagan and John Lennon -- What Secrets Has Yoko Ono Been Keeping From Us?

More recently, reports have surfaced in a soon to be released documentary that late in life, Lennon had grown ashamed of the political naivete of his early years and though unable to vote for him because of his British citizenship, had become a supporter of Ronald Reagan during his run for the presidency in 1980.

"John, basically, made it very clear that if he were an American he would vote for Reagan because he was really sour on Jimmy Carter," Seaman told filmmaker Seth Swirsky. "He did express support for Reagan, which shocked me....I also saw John embark in some really brutal arguments with my uncle, who's an old-time communist... He enjoyed really provoking my uncle... Maybe he was being provocative... but it was pretty obvious to me he had moved away from his earlier radicalism...He was a very different person back in 1979 and '80 than he'd been when he wrote 'Imagine.' By 1979 he looked back on that guy and was embarrassed by that guy's naivete."

Who wasn’t naive in their younger days? Up until a few years ago I still trusted the REPUBLICAN party.

I'm guilty too...

JFK wanted to get us out of Viet Nam after the ‘64 elections. What’s the difference?

At the time of his death, Lennon was a heroin addict weighing in at something like 112 lbs.

Lennon was long over heroin when he died. He was thin when he died (though I don't think nearly as low as 112), but that was mostly due to the crazy diet Ono had him on.

Nah, that was from the backmasking portion of “It’s All Too Much.”

Well, Harrison may have written Taxman but undoubtedly Lennon agreed

Just listened carefully to "Revolution" the other day as the spousal unit said the words could be a critique of the woke generation. She's sort of right (I hate to admit it tho).

John was only moments away from breaking up with Ono when he was killed. I believe it became a marriage of convenience — mostly to her.

Who knows if his Christianity swing would have lasted, but his relationship with Ono wouldn’t have...

I read somewhere (would have to look it up) that Yoko is heavily into the occult.

Give Lapland back to the Laps,

Give China back to the Chinese,

Give Yoko back to the Japs.

You love Lennon, I do not.

Where did I say I love him? You posted something that was factually incorrect and I corrected it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nah, that was from the backmasking portion of “It’s All Too Much.”

Not according to John in his own words per below. Also, it's very clearly "cranberry sauce" on the version of "Strawberry Fields" on the Anthology album.

I still say John would be back to full-on lefty by now had he lived. Can’t see him opposing Oh-buh-maw.

I think you're right. People like Lennon crave being a leader, or at least a part of, the "in-crowd".

However, it does make we wonder if Yoko Ono had anything to do with his murder.
