ABC’s Hostin: Second Amendment ‘Was Designed to Protect Slavery
Breitbart ^ | 07/23/21 | Pam

Posted on 07/24/2021 6:30:53 AM PDT by Enlightened1

ABC legal analyst Sunny Hostin said Friday on ABC’s “The View” she believed that the Second Amendment “was designed to protect slavery” by empowering local militia groups to “put down slave revolts.”

Hostin said, “If you look at the history of the NRA for decades, the NRA has pushed legislation that not only supported a lot of gun ownership and the proliferation of guns but stifled the study and spread of information right, about the causes of gun violence. And when we talk about the culture of guns in this country, I’m reading an incredible book called ‘The Second’ by professor Carol Anderson. And she describes that the constitutional — the Second Amendment really was the right to bear arms was designed to protect slavery, right, because they wanted — our Founding Fathers and others, they wanted to be able to empower a local militia group to basically put down slave revolts and protect plantation owners.”

She added, “Because of the origins of the Second Amendment many and because of the NRA, I think we’re seeing this proliferation of guns and gun ownership. But I will say that gun ownership is on the rise, of course, in this country, but the biggest gun ownership on the rise is among African-Americans. It’s up 58.2 percent. In large part, when they are questioned, they’re talking about white supremacy, they’re talking about the pandemic, and they’re talking about police violence. They want to be able to protect themselves. So this is not about a rise in crime in the streets. This is about people feeling unsafe, black Americans.”

These people act as if it is 1860. They think slavery is still going on.

And so it ramps up: “The Constitution is fundamentally racist, and must be destroyed!” coming soon.

In 1789, were slave rebellions a problem our founders were grappling with? Nat Turner wasn’t until 1831 and caused 60 fatalities, give or take. Large organized rebellion wasn’t a concern. There wasn’t an American Spartacus.

1) The Second Amendment was designed to prevent England from further oppressing us.

2) The Second Amendment was designed to force the newly-created government to not follow in England’s footsteps of oppression.

3) The NRA was founded to fight laws preventing blacks from owning firearms.

Other than that, she’s absolutely right.

I have an expert shooter friend who is no longer a slave in the Democrat BLM plantation nor is he a supporter of the Congressional black Caucus because they refuse to admit Senator Scott.

He can drive tacks with a .357 magnum Colt Python at 75 yards shooting either .38 or .357.

And he loves the 2nd amendment and the Constitution

He also loves this web page:

You could have no better man protecting your six.

They can come and get some.

The constitution was adopted on September 17, 1787.

In 1770 slavery was banned outright upon the founding of Vermont. In 1777, existing male slaves were freed at the age of 21 and females at the age of 18. In 1780, Pennsylvania adopted a statute that provided for the freedom of every slave born after its enactment (once that individual reached the age of majority). Massachusetts abolish slavery outright in 1783. The other New England states adopted gradual emancipation schemes modeled on Pennsylvania’s statute in the mid-1780s. By 1817 every state in the northern and western United States had committed itself to a future without slavery.

The lies being spread today are akin to those promoting the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in Czarist Russia or the Eternal Jew in Nazi Germany.

The US Constitution and the amendments didn’t just suddenly show up, intact, and in force. It was written about and publicly debated for years. And nothing in the record supports this crazy claim. A quick read of Federalist 29 would put an end to this. But now days, some progressive idiots tie everything in our founding history to slavery and the media eats it up.

The first shots in the American Revolution was the result of British troops attempting to seize weapons from civilians.

The founding fathers understood without the right to own guns the government could become a tyranny.

The 2nd amendment had nothing to do with slavery. And if we were to interpret the Constitution correctly there would be no restrictions on weapon ownership at all.

Notice they have a new absurdity to roll out every day. A couple of days ago it was white supremacists keeping black people from camping in the woods and visiting the national parks.

"...The NRA was founded to fight laws preventing blacks from owning firearms..."

Sorry, but the NRA was founded in 1871 by two Yankee Civil War veterans to improve the shooting skills of soldiers. They included all Americans, Southerners and former slaves, in the training.

Sunny Hostin is a one-woman super-spreader of lies and disinformation. Her abject failure to understand the American Revolution and Constitutional history demeans black people by perpetuating stereotypes about ignorance. Why is ABC giving her a platform?

“ ABC legal analyst Sunny Hostin said Friday on ABC’s “The View” she believed that….”

So a “legal analyst” uses the words “she believes” in a history that didn’t exist. I’ll bet that she also believes that makes her statement opinion and not legally liable for slandering the NRA.

Ok. In that case I believe Sunny Hostin is a modern day wicked witch who lures small children into house so she can enslave and then eat them. I believe she has a history of doing so and that they are usually illegal alien children who can’t be traced, which is why she supports open borders.
