Fork lifting lumber in a box store is hazardous. Typically, store and company policies dictate that when lifting anything, barricades are set for both the active isle and the opposite isle in case the forklift drops something or pushes something off the rack into the opposite isle. Escorts outside the barricades keep customers out of the hazard area.
Flying 8-16 ft long lumber pallets 20 ft in the air is not a trivial thing.
As far as shutting the whole store down, that likely would be management's call. The affected area would be immediately shut down by local and OSHA authorities pending investigation. In fact, all lifting operations are likely shut down pending the investigation results.
Re. the protests…. My opinion is that the local professional grievance response unit was activated.
And probably had a GO FUND ME seconds after she heard the news.
So now Menard’s owes repinations or they don’t get to open no mo’?
She just made his death all about her.
Welcome to gynosociety men.
You are disposable props.
I feel for the dead guy. Another disposable guy dead in a workplace accident.
LOL, I’d never seen or heard of that before.
Maybe not American made but at least brand names. I can go to Lowes and buy a Delta faucet for instance. Leviton electrical items. Phillips & GE lighting. John Deere mowers, Lincoln welders, small equipment with Honda or B&S engines, Charbroil and Weber grills etc etc
Might not be made in the USA but at least have headquarters here with American workers. Owners Manuals that you can read. Websites and toll free numbers you can call. Can even buy parts for some stuff.
Unbelievably sad that her brother was killed, but she really did him a disservice by acting like a trash clown.
Thanks, my only experience with Menard’s was a number of store visits when I worked in N.D. for a few years. I was impressed with the size of the place once it finally opened.
It seemed like it was two or three times the size of a Home Depot or Lowes. They also sell propane which is a plus. They do have some of the brands you mentioned (I just checked). I was surprised they didn’t have Lincoln and Deere, especially considering the agriculture and energy sectors there.
Menard’s has very, and I mean VERY deep pockets. (The owner is a very successful Wisconsin man, John Menard.)
$16.8 BILLION as of right now. He’ll be worth more by suppertime, today. ;)

She’s looking for a payday.
I LOVED the years I drove a fork. I never saw it used in THAT application before, but I could’ve solved a LOT of my previous problems with it had I only known, LOL!
Same place that latched on to masks and sold um for a buck before the mandates.
Menard is a Soros type liberal
Anything for a buck.
I don’t know what they do in your state, but in my state they do close the road or highway for fatal MVA’s while the state police do their investigation for however long it takes to take the measurements and photographs needed.
DS1 was working construction during the pandemic. He never wore a mask anywhere and got thrown out of Menard’s. I still hear him grumbling about the “mask Nazis” and it kind of soured me on Menard’s.
IIRC ... we all got Covid except him. Must have been too much blood in his alcohol system (eyeroll)
menards is dead to me. and there are 3 closer than home depot to me.
I drive past them all the time on the way to the depot or a local lumber/hardware store.
“And probably had a GO FUND ME seconds after she heard the news.”
“A GoFundMe has been set up for Stanback’s family. Click here for more information.”
Go buy a lottery ticket!
The store should close permanent and take their jobs elsewhere.
If Menards has the 11% rebate you can go to this website and get the same rebate from Home Depot...
