I can usually tell around the 4th or 5th cup that I'm done for the day.
I just check with myself at the limit.

I usually have a LARGE cup at home, then usually about 3 “regular” size cups at work. Weekends, probably 3 of the large cups, maybe less if I am planning to have a nap that afternoon.

The next study will say something different. And the next, and the next.and how long has coffee been around? I wouldn't be expecting any clear answers on some "novel coronavirus" anytime soon.

Man, when I worked construction I’d have 2 cups before I even left the house. Another cup on the way to the job site. A thermos (3 cups) for the morning. There was usually extra at the site. I easily hit 6-8 cups/day. Moved into office work and was more 3-4 cups/day. Now I work from home and I’ve backed off to 1 cup in the morning.
The jitter juice had me in it’s clutches for awhile.

Who knows how common it is, but some people get into a vicious ping pong cycle of too much alcohol at night followed by too much coffee the next day to counteract it. The massive coffee during the day then leads to repeating the cycle. They can’t successfully cut back on the alcohol until they make the connection the coffee has to be reduced in tandem.
