They have gone big into auto parts, which I buy a lot of.

I rarely watch Prime Video. When I do, I mainly watch the documentaries that are not found on Netflix, Hulu or any other P2W service.
No one is forcing you to watch anything on Prime Video or buy from Amazon.
Bezos might be a leftist, he did use capitalism to amass his fortune and others have amassed theirs off the back of that company. I wouldn’t be too down trodden on a company that used the capitalism model to get to where it is today. Most people that dislike Amazon are actually envious that they did not think of it first. Has Amazon grown too big for its britches, maybe but a lot of third party sellers are able to make money and a living through this business model. It has also saved these small businesses a lot of money by not having to buuy a lot of resources. Amazon will be the top dog for now and as sure as there are people on this Earth there will be the haters. And then there will be others who will increase their wealth and income because Amazon was there and pioneered eCommerce on the internet from a garage based business bookstore.
Bezos paid for the most expensive 10 minute thrill ride in history.
He could feed Africa, but why would he. Are you advocating some sort of socialism that rich people should pay for people who didn’t work for their own money? Do you think that at some point you’ve made enough?
Why do you think that any employer owes an employee a “living wage” whatever that is? People are hired at a wage consistent with the market value of the services they provide. If they don’t like their salary they’re free to look for other employment. Last I heard Amazon didn’t have any slaves

I don’t advocate socialism, but Bezos has already given $100mm to Jones the communist. Besides, there was a time when feeding the African poor was considered laudable. In addition, I used to know someone who worked at an Amazon fulfillment center; the socialist way the place was run gave me the idea that Bezos could at least put some of his $ to good use.
Yeah well, sometimes sarcasm is subtle and hard to detect in text. For the record I am more of a “labor is a commodity like any other commodity and its value is based on supply and demand” kind of guy. But this Bezos character is accused of all kinds of workplace abuses. Limiting bathroom breaks, spying on drivers with all kinds of gizmos, forced overtime. Some of it is just your usual worker-employer greivance. Some of it seems, from media sources, to be a little egregious.
So when Bezos put out a tweet thanking his employees for helping him spend billions of dollars to build a rocket and spend 6 minutes in space he deserved to be mocked.
Also seems to me, he is a big time donor of the left and very influential over the media. Not just the WP but word was he was trying to buy CNN too. Seems kind of two faced as he is in the tent with the same people who advocate for much higher mandatory minimum wages. But that issue obviously doesn’t suit his interests. So, I’ll just speculate, his control over media narrative(s) serves to leverage his personal interests. Which is fine, that’s how it works in America no matter how hypocritical. While many on the right are upset at what appears to be a very left-dominated media landscape, Bezos can turn on dime if he wanted to and use that power to push an agenda against the left if they push against his interests too far.
I will never know Bezos personally and if I did I very likely would dislike him. However, whatever you think of his politics, his business practices, or his public image, the fact remains that he took an idea and grew very wealthy by implementing that idea, and his money is earned by billions of Voluntary transactions around the world. Unlike government which never earns anything from voluntary transactions but gains all of its resources by what would be considered extortion by any other entity, Bezos got his money by providing a service that people were willing to pay for.
I don’t like his politics. I don’t know enough about his business practices to have an opinion, but he earned his money honestly and can spent it any way he wants.
I have no problem with any of that. But, I have the 1st Amendment right to mock him for his lack of self awareness. His employees are quite mad at him over wages and working conditions, and he blows billions on a rocket, and then thanks them for their help in taking a trip 60 miles straight up for a few minutes. He can’t be so successful and so oblivious to their grievances that he rubs their nose in it. Or I guess he can.

No matter what I think of Bezos (nothing much, actually, outside of a minor bit of envy), no one has ever been forced to buy something on Amazon, or work for them, so he has the right to do with his money as he pleases (until he directly tries to impose on my life, liberty, or property).
Since to *ME* the single most important issue facing humanity is getting off of this planet and colonizing space, I’m happy to see this.
