I’m still looking for the sarcasm in your post. Not all that obvious if it’s there
Yeah well, sometimes sarcasm is subtle and hard to detect in text. For the record I am more of a “labor is a commodity like any other commodity and its value is based on supply and demand” kind of guy. But this Bezos character is accused of all kinds of workplace abuses. Limiting bathroom breaks, spying on drivers with all kinds of gizmos, forced overtime. Some of it is just your usual worker-employer greivance. Some of it seems, from media sources, to be a little egregious.
So when Bezos put out a tweet thanking his employees for helping him spend billions of dollars to build a rocket and spend 6 minutes in space he deserved to be mocked.
Also seems to me, he is a big time donor of the left and very influential over the media. Not just the WP but word was he was trying to buy CNN too. Seems kind of two faced as he is in the tent with the same people who advocate for much higher mandatory minimum wages. But that issue obviously doesn’t suit his interests. So, I’ll just speculate, his control over media narrative(s) serves to leverage his personal interests. Which is fine, that’s how it works in America no matter how hypocritical. While many on the right are upset at what appears to be a very left-dominated media landscape, Bezos can turn on dime if he wanted to and use that power to push an agenda against the left if they push against his interests too far.
