The man put his feet on the Speaker’s desk. Leaving aside the current Speaker’s actual worth, this is an outrage, and the man does well to glean some wisdom from his jail journey.

If there had been a real attack, there would have been dead politicians strewn all over the floors of Congress, and most of them Democrats.

Torresola’s sister had been wounded and his brother Elio was arrested. Believing they had to do something for their cause, Collazo and Torresola decided to assassinate President Harry S. Truman, in order to bring world attention to the need for independence in Puerto Rico.[1][3]
