A man driving down Highway 99 in California last Wednesday had to make an abrupt stop when a smoking car came flying off an overpass and tumbled on the road, landing just feet in front of him.
Dashcam footage from the scene in Yuba City last week shows the man's truck driving down the winding country road, as a white car could be seen flying through the air on the left, leaving behind a plume of smoke.

I thought that Tesla made it into space?
That’s impressive!
Got it between the power AND the CATV lines.
Just some good ol’ boys....
I’d like to see some hood sliding.
Wow!
Amazing that there were no serious injuries.
A college buddy pulled a stunt like that once. He was in a severely souped up Camaro and fell asleep doing 80. Ran into the ditch and hit a police turn around. He said he went back a couple days later and measured the distance between where his tire marks stopped and then restarted. I think he said it was just under 100 feet.
Last time we spoke, 2-3 years ago, he still had the car. (rebuilt of course)
That’ll buff right out
The guy with the Dashcam needs to work on his response time.
I don’t get all the screaming. They weren’t in any danger.
Whatever kind of car that was, the manufacturer needs to use it in a response to the Subaru “They Lived” ad.
Yea, they lived too!
I was trying to figure out what kind of car that was to take that impact so well. My daughter (who studies these things) guesses it was a BMW M4 or M5, which could explain the solid chassis, high speed of launch, and driver stupidity.
Thanks for the link!
Yes. He should have been running toward the wrecked car within seconds of coming to a stop, preferably carrying a fire extinguisher.
I wouldn’t be sitting there talking about it
I’d be seeing what I could do
A couple years ago, a kid hit an embankment in front of me on a busy highway in a snow storm and ended up upside down in a creek
I had 911 on the phone but dropped it to strip off my good coat and head down the hill to help while most others just gawker as they drove by
Fortunately, he got out before I got to him and only had to apply some clean shop towels I had and keep him warm until emergency vehicles showed up...15 minutes later
It was a trail of dirt for when he left the pavement.
Apparently his Wife couldn’t handle calling 911 and telling the Kids to calm down at the same time. Being able to multitask must be a special talent.
I’m sure it’s just me. I don’t deal with the emotional crap very well. You have a job to do so get with it. Its a Winston Wolfe kind if thing.
Another reason I was never a DEMONCRAT.
Dukes of Hazzard-style moment........so, it was racist?
I’m the kind of guy who runs toward the fire. (And have)
I couldn’t imagine just sitting there having a conversation when I should be approaching the scene.
