A Hong Kong Instagram star tragically plummeted to her death after she slipped while snapping a selfie at a waterfall.
The shocking incident occurred after Sofia Cheung, 32, and three friends embarked on a trip to Ha Pak Lai park around 11 a.m. Saturday, the Sun reported. The influencer had decided to take selfies at the edge of a waterfall at the park’s Pineapple Mountain site — a locale popular with hikers at sunset — when she apparently lost her footing and fell into the 16-foot pool below.
Cheung’s horrified friends promptly called emergency services, who quickly arrived and whisked the woman to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival, according to the Sun.

To be old and wise one must first survive being young and stupid.
And I thought Selfiecides were down because of covid.
So because this woman stood on rocks in precarious locations I'm supposed to buy the same products that she shills?
How much does the job as an Instagram Influencer pay per year? I might be interested.
“If she wanted to be a wrapper, she shoulda worked in Customer Services at Macy’s.”
True, but she obviously thought her ‘likes’ would increase if she ‘took a blow’ for publicity...but it only works in the wrapper world.
She influenced me not to want to be an influencer.
I don’t know where that yoga pose is, but at Machu Picchu I saw some gal teetering on a rock to take a selfie and I really thought she was gonna take a plunge. Idiots.
Purchase products (and services) she pushed? Yes!
You specifically? No. You were only influenced if you were a fan.
Problem is the increasingly “edgy” (read risky and dangerous) behavior she probably felt was needed to keep her more short attention span and extreme fans tied to her.
Taking photographs alongside a waterfall shouldn’t be particularly dangerous but I have the feeling these were probably not your typical photographs.
Got what they deserved, one less dumbass taking up our oxygen.
That's not what it said. The only sentence with "16 foot" in it was:
when she apparently lost her footing and fell into the 16-foot pool below.
It doesn't say how far she fell. Just that she fell into a 16 foot pool below.
So many stories of these selfie stories! Don’t people learn??!!
Re-read the caption beneath the photo. That is exactly what it says.
