It is interesting that in a time when the entire population was under house arrest, televised sports sank like a rock. Just a guess, but perhaps Americans don’t care to subsidize people who hate them.

It was more simple than that.

When the entire population was under house arrest in 2020, the sports leagues that were "in season" at the time -- namely basketball, hockey and baseball -- all shut down for months. People found other things to do while they were locked down.

Discretionary entertainment is a very fleeting thing. Once you lose the attention of your customers, it's very hard to get it back.

The "woke" stupidity by these sports leagues only made things worse. I'm the biggest hockey fan you'll ever meet ... and I haven't watched a hockey game on TV since early 2020.

And I use to watch pro football, bball and baseball. Now? Nope.

I believe that God is pulling us away from the past times that we used to hold dear. How can it be that every major event of fun and pleasure can all become so disappointing in such a short span of time?

I said at the outset, every major sports league has a tremendous opportunity be the hero and go America, gaining legions of fans (see 2001 World Series, GWB first pitch). Nearly every one of them said, “Nah. We’d rather be ‘woke’.”

We didn’t watch one second of the MLB All-Star game this year. Maybe next year. We’ll see...

There's a lot more entertainment options nowadays. You can watch Netflix. Hulu. Disney +. Etc. No need to watch professional sports. Back then you only had a couple of channels.

Now that they're going WOKE. Ok then. I'll watch Game of Thrones instead.

I used to love watching NBA. Bird. Magic. Jordan.

Now who are the guys playing? I have nothing in common with them. Yeah I know LeBron James. He's an @$$hole. Why watch him? He is not having fun playing basketball. He acts like the whole world owes him. Even though he became a millionaire when he turned 18.

How would we react if the ratings were through the roof? For me it’s no different and some woke corporations are doing very well so it’s not universal that woke= broke. I stop patronizing stuff for my own personal integrity. That’s it. If the game had remained in Atlanta I still wouldn’t have watched.
