I am posting this article as I have been using a "whole-body-vibration" (WBV) device for five months and have had truly outstanding effects on joint pain from osteoarthritis.
I have been able to stop using a cane, and with long-term use, am slowly regaining a normal walking stride instead of a "gimp limp". There is a ton of information on the web and videos on YouTube. I will post links to the best "layman's language" articles I have found in a later comment.
Are any fellow Freepers out there using this tech, and what has been your experience?

Makes my nose tingle when I stand on it. It’s supposed to get soreness out, but never used it for exercising.

My grandmother had one when I was a kid. She was fat and it didn't help her with that. We loved to fool around with the machine. If it helps with your arthritis that is great to know.

I hope they study the effects on the lymphatic system. Unlike with blood vessels the fluids in the lymph system are not pumped by the heart. I would think that the vibrations in these platforms would help move the lymph fluid through the body.

Fitness, in the true sense of the word, requires effort and work to strengthen muscles, heart, and lungs.
But human nature will eternally grasp at shortcuts and promises, with the same predictable results.

How can this be? We are told that we have no hope. We’re either going to die from COVID or the vaccine? /S

The Greek docs observed that the vibrations allowed pus to drain from wounds more freely (yuck) while also healing the wounds faster.Maggots (fly larvae) have also been used to eat away dead tissue, promoting healing. Double yuck!

The gym where my wife works has one, but hardly anyone ever uses it, so I’m told. I’ve always been curious about the possible benefits. This article seems to give a reasonable analysis.

There have also been substantial tests showing that the slight stimulation of core muscles causes the attached bones to absorb calcium — so as to grow strong enough to resist the stress. This can even reverse osteo of a spine.
