Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca Are Studying Whether Modifying Their COVID-19 Vaccines Can Reduce Or Eliminate The Risk Of Rare Blood Clots

Johnson & JohnsonAstraZeneca and the University of Oxford have begun studying whether or not modifying their COVID-19 vaccines can reduce or eliminate the risk of rare, deadly blood clots.

First reported by The Wall Street Journal, sources say scientists are working to  identify the causes behind the blood clots and potentially re-engineer the shots to be distributed by next year.

Both the J&J and AstraZeneca vaccines have been linked to clots along with a low platelet-count condition known as thrombocytopenia, which researchers have dubbed vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT).

A J&J spokesman told The Journal that the New Jersey-based company supports 'continued research and analysis as we work with medical experts and global health authorities' but did not answer specific questions about the early-stage research.

An AstraZeneca spokesperson elaborated and said the firm is 'actively working with the regulators and scientific community to understand these extremely rare blood-clotting events, including information to drive early diagnosis and intervention, and appropriate treatment.'

So the vaxx death now outpaces the Covid death and some will get the jab and simply play Russian Roulette.

May I suggest that they will regret saying this... for one thing, they may as well say “we made a mistake with releasing this for use” and that has its implication. The second thing is why would a person who was thinking of getting EGT’d not hold out until the something better is developed?

Almost seems like something you should have done BEFORE rollout.

“these extremely rare blood-clotting events”

Do the vaccines cause no blood-clotting at all in most people — or do they cause at least a little blood-clotting in many, though usually not enough to be serious?

They can do it because they have no liability.

True but there are other implications other than just liability.

How about desist modification.

That might be best.

The spike proteins produced ARE what is causing the clots!

So unless they intend on another approach, the answer is NO!

"If it’s rare, then why are they are trying to change it?"

To make it even more rare or eliminate it altogether? It isn't just about this one vaccine; it's about the platform. They want to be able to release other vaccines on their platform and the best way to do so is to refine it so it's as safe and effective as possible.

3 per million is a rare event. 0 per million is better than 3 per million when talking about adverse events, yes?

If that were the case, all the vaccines and the disease itself would cause blood clots. But this has not been observed with the mRNA vaccines.

So no, it’s not the spike proteins themselves. This is specific to the adenovirus vector approach.

Isn’t it odd that two companies developed a vaccine independently and BOTH cause the same “rare” blood clots? It’s almost as if there is something wrong with the process./s

What do I think a headache is? Well it isn’t evidence of blood clots if that’s what you’re getting at.

Headaches can be caused by dehydration, fatigue, sleep deprivation, stress, and any number of other factors. Infection, medications, all sorts of things. There’s not necessarily any physical cause at the site of pain. Nerve cells misfiring (due to any of the above reasons) or irritation or inflammation in or around the blood vessels anywhere in the neck or head area can all contribute. It’s an extremely non-specific symptom.

But no, a headache is not evidence that blood clots are sitting there.

You meant to say "not pathognomonic" didn't you?

it is suggested d-dimber testing a week after vaccination can provide insight on this.
