Ok but our employer is going against DOH guidelines. I know I sound like a whiner and a lot of people making silly responses but given the options I don’t want to expose myself in an office space that does not have adequate ventilation...also mentioned by DOH on their website. I don’t want to die just because my employer wants to say, “Look, we are all working together, there’s nothing to be afraid of. The DOH website for Wa state says otherwise. Aren’t the authority?

I’ve been working in office since last summer. No problems.

1) You live in a leftist place
2) Your username has freebird in it
3) Maybe you should be ‘traveling on now’

It is stupid to have people in the office if they can do the same work from home. But it’s the employer’s right to be stupid. I hope the stupid employers lose all their good talent. The remote work revolution is upon us.

I’ve traveled to 14 states for work over the course of this pandemic. Met with 100’s of people, flown on many flights, no masks unless required and no jab. I even drove my CV19 positive daughter to get tested (again no mask) 30 mins away from here. Maybe I’ve had it maybe I haven’t. Either way I’ve lived life to the fullest with zero fear. You’ll be fine.

I stay home. Every year when I get a flu shot I take the next day off since I ALWAYS experience severe flu like symptoms....every time.

The data I have seen suggests some of the variants of the bug are sometimes more contagious, but either no more deadly or less deadly than previous versions, and this past week deaths from reactions to the vaccines have exceeded new deaths from the bug, in the U.S.

If at work you do the same things you were required to do in your retail shopping from the start of the pandemic till now, there is no data suggesting you will be more vulnerable than were most “essential workers” during the lock downs and the “essential workers” were not the demographic groups with the largest Covid-19 fatality rates - family contact was #1 followed by health care industry workers including nursing home employees, and even still, among them, those with comorbidity issues dominated.

Are you sure your fear of Covid is not the REAL reason you don't want to return to the office?

Working from home is nice for many and tough to give up.

Seriously? I think you are asking the wrong audience for sympathy.

I’ve had to drive into work every day for the past year+ (barely getting to work from home about 1-2 months)

No danger pay for coming into the office even though it was closed down at least 3 times due to “covid” cases on site (closures each time for 1-2 weeks).

Even now the rest of the staff are only “encouraged” to return for several hours Tuesday-Thursday.

As with the primary poster, most of my responsibilities were moved offshore and I have been reassigned to something that required me to be onsite (the other tasks could have been done from home for the majority of the time and were my role of 5 years).

Wear a mask. Or 2. Or 6. Isn’t that supposed to be the cure-all for everything?

"The DOH website states that covid is mutating into different variants..."

Get a grip, think for yourself - screw the virus and the scare-mongering.

Damn, you're embarassing yourself, dude.

If you are that frightened, get the vaccine. Have you seen the site Worldometer.com? You might want to read that for a few days, I think you would see that the deaths have gone down dramatically.

No, not playing on the radio. I know from 30 years working there they can track your computer use. I know of situations where people have been fired for that type of time abuse.

ZFG. Cower in the basement the rest of your miserable life.

(Do you leave your home? Then you can go back to work.)

Under 40 the seasonal flu is more deadly——please stop. If we followed every case of the flu like we did Covid, you’d be afraid to leave your house for life!
