Since all of North America had 388,000 slaves imported of the 10.7 million imported to the Americas, the US will foot 2.9% of the bill.
Portugal and Brazil will, of course each take much more.
And the English, who imported Irish slaves — er, indentured servants —- in far greater numbers than African slaves will need to step up for the Irish.
After all the Irish (and a number of others under peonage) were not released until 1865, with the passage of the 13th Amendment, which is, interestingly long after African slaves were freed in the Confederate states.
And while we’re at it, the Italians, be Romans, better step up for what they did in Gaul and Britannia.
And for that matter, what they did in Israel.
And, heck, let’s not forget what the Egyptians did.
And what the Bantu are currently doing all over Africa.
And what Japan did in Korea.
And China does now, pretty well all over.
