He’ll win.

The state violated his rights.. like it or not.

They will pay for it

“That would add insult to injury. I am curious why a question like this - does the accused enjoy immunity from prosecution - wasn't settled BEFORE the case went before a jury.”

Cosby tried - that issue went to the state Supreme Court before trial and they rejected it. Then 3 years later they overturned the conviction on that very same argument. Go figure.

Look

If ONE woman says you drugged and raped her. That’s bad

But if dozens do ?

Come on now

There’s something even more ridiculous than that.

A wrongful conviction lawsuit is aimed at rendering justice in a case where a person has been convicted of a crime he didn’t commit. The most egregious scenario involves prosecutorial misconduct where the prosecutor deliberately withheld evidence that would have exonerated the accused criminal.

Nothing like that happened here. Cosby DID commit the crimes in question — by his own admission in sworn testimony. It’s just that the conviction was vacated on a legal technicality.

The point is … what kind of civil litigation lawyer is ever going to want to pursue this case on Cosby’s behalf? All the lawyers for Pennsylvania (the defendant in this hypothetical civil lawsuit) would have to do is demonstrate to a jury — using Cosby’s own admissions — that he was guilty as hell. Your typical juror isn’t just going to rule against Cosby in the civil case, but they’re probably going to beg the judge to let them convict his ass and send him to prison.

Millions of taxpayer dollars...

(Prosecutors should pay this out of their own pockets, and lose their law licenses, but of course they won't.)

There are a lot of people who can’t face the disillusionment of this celebrity being something other than he portrayed on television.

That he spent as much time as he did at the Playboy Mansion should tell people something, especially a married man as Cosby was at the time.

I can see a guy going there once or twice even if out of curiosity alone, but Cosby was a “regular”.

From stories I heard about the place, it was disgustingly seedy, especially in the later years.

Thanks. That’s not very well reported. Sounds like incompetence abounded in this case, plenty of blame to go around.

Watch the Joe Brown/Lamont interview, it will probably change your mind.

I hope Cosby files a civil suit against the prosecutor.

Good grief I remember all the cartoons and jokes about drugging attractive women, pretending marriage vows and getting women tipsy to have sex with them. The men were called wolves and only admired each other. Their outlet was playboy magazine.

“He pretty much said he drugged and rapped women.”

That’s not really what he said. He essentially said he had provided drugs to someone who wanted them in hopes of sex. Not uncommon in the party culture to trade drugs for sex, thus the term “coke whore.” It’s also a common reason men ply women with drinks at a bar - hoping it will lower their inhibitions and they will want to have sex. But I am not defending Cosby here - way too many similar accusations of him slipping a woman a mickey and raping them while unconscious. If it were only a handful of accusations you could write it off to gold diggers but there were dozens. Where there’s that much smoke there’s usually fire.

He told them to take pills to make their planned sexual encounter more exciting,

THE WOMEN TOOK THE DRUGS WILLINGLY AND WENT UP TO HIS HOTEL ROOM.

The drugs gave them amnesia so there is no way to know if the ladies later changed their mind, so legally they can call it rape.

He did not secretly drug their drink, which is what usually happens in rape cases.

He stated a while back that he never employed whites. Only blacks. Didn’t want whites around him.

I think the previous case, where they gave him immunity if he ‘testified honestly’ in the Civil Court, was where the errors started.

That’s a liberals dream deal.

Just think... How was he given immunity for any criminal case, by testifying in a civil case.

Who was allowed to grant him such CRIMINAL immunity during a private civil case? Who has that authority?

He was absolutely right to take that deal. Immunity from posecution, and possibly spending decades in jail for raping OTHER women, by ‘testifying honestly’ in a civil lawsuit from one woman.

I am almost glad the prosecutor in this case ignored that deal and exposed him for the world to see. He might be the good guy in this case, by knowingly ignoring the previous deal.

The guy has hundreds of millions, yet wants to take from the taxpayers of Pennsylvania. It is too bad the rapist can’t sue the prosecutors themselves; or better still, they should be charged and convicted & thrown in prison. He is a rotten man, but so are they, for lying and chanting and wasting money and time for what purpose?

just because he got out of jail on a technicality does not mean he did not drug women to have sex with them.
and even if somebody took a pill willingly- does not mean she wants to have sex. Sorry to all that will be be outraged.

Politicians in both parties take actions and pass laws to get political support like the DA in Montgomery County did with Cosby.

The Democrat DA promised prosecution that a Republican DA declined.

He broke rules in the process but got the political success he wanted.

Republicans pass all kinds of laws in the leadup to the next election cycle that will be challenged in court on abortion, transgenderism, critical race theory etc. etc.

The court fight may be lost but the political support is obtained by passing the laws.
