Bill Cosby's spokesman has said he hopes to recoup damages for wrongful incarceration from the state of Pennsylvania, and accused attorneys for the comedian's accusers of having 'an ax to grind against black men.'
Cosby was released from prison on June 30 after serving two years behind bars, when the Pennsylvania Supreme Court vacated his 2018 conviction for sexual assault, citing violations of his due process rights.
Now, his publicist Andrew Wyatt says that Cosby hopes to win 'a couple hundred grand' in compensation for the time he spend behind bars on the now-vacated conviction.
'We are looking at what recourse, what legal recourse we can take against the state of Pennsylvania,' Wyatt told The Domenick Nati Show in an interview on Friday. 'We are looking at all legal angles for those things right now.'

It *was* settled. They all knew as they were trying him that this would happen.
Eh. No different than OJ going out looking for the real killer.
The democrats wanted his head.
Democrat-run State, so I say, ‘Go for it, Bill!’
He got off on a technicality based on a news release that was not a binding agreement. He admitted to giving drugs to women without their consent to get sex. Now he is suing.

I listened to Viva and Barnes podcast on this. The prosecutor thought the case was extremely weak, that there were numerous problems with the accusations including the fact that the accusers had maintained a personal relationship after the alleged incidents. Given what was known at the time, he thought a conviction was unlikely. He said he would not prosecute if Cosby went ahead and testified honestly at the civil case. Cosby’s judge had run against that prosecutor and lost. He had fund-raised based on the Cosby case and then that case ended up in his court. He refused to recuse himself and convicted Cosby. The list of court errors was long and convincing.

This is the way it works. Have you noticed that when public official want to do something but afraid the voters would object some group sues them and they cave.
My guess is that Pennsylvania will not defend their action but simply pay Cosby what ever he ask for.
Something is odd about this. Assuming for a moment he was wrongfully held - Is 2 years behind bars only worth ‘a couple hundred grand?’
He is a Demonrat. A corrupt Demonrat PA Supreme Court ordered his release. Pays to be a Derp Stater like Cosby. Get out of jail free card.
I guess you only believe womens’ accusations of sexual assault when when they are levied against a Republican.
I invite you to watch Judge Joe Brown dismantled Marc Lamont over the approach to this case.
I don’t know why this case doesn’t bother me.
He was exposed for the world to see. Many women went on national TV and spoke about how he raped them with drugs.
He may be technically Free from facing anything in the courts, but he is far from innocent. And I am glad he spent years in jail.
He’s an awful person, but I’d love the governor to have to hand him over millions anyway. And the city of Philadelphia handing him a check would be the cherry on top.
I actually believe Cosby’s own account of what happened in his civil deposition. He pretty much said he drugged and rapped women.
Some states have statutory caps for wrongful imprisonment claims; IOW, people who have been wrongly imprisoned can only recoup X-amount of money for each year of imprisonment. PA may be one of those states. IDK.
My contention is not that the case was bungled or poorly done, because that sounds like the case.
But I have believed he drugged and raped women from day one when I heard of the accusations.
I was a fan of Bill Cosby back in the early to mid-sixties, but as I got older, I had a sixth sense telling me that the person who he presented to the world was quite different from the person he was.
I knew someone who met him in person, and said he was a real jerk, nothing like the persona he presented.
At this time, back in the Seventies, the feeling that I got every time I saw him was not that he was a jerk, that is common enough in celebrities. It was darker, and more ominous, though I never even considered it was something like drugging and raping women. I didn’t know what my gut was telling me, but it wasn’t that.
However, when that came out, I didn’t feel the least bit surprised by the accusations.
But that is just my personal opinion.
“If you admit to this, you will pay $xxxx, but you will not be criminally charges.”
An innocent person might accept this deal.
Same goes with parole. If you were wrongfully convicted of a crime, and you want to get out early on parole, you have to admit guilt.
I don’t know if B.C. is a scumbag or not, but I do know he was selected for destruction by the liberals.
