I listened to Viva and Barnes podcast on this. The prosecutor thought the case was extremely weak, that there were numerous problems with the accusations including the fact that the accusers had maintained a personal relationship after the alleged incidents. Given what was known at the time, he thought a conviction was unlikely. He said he would not prosecute if Cosby went ahead and testified honestly at the civil case. Cosby’s judge had run against that prosecutor and lost. He had fund-raised based on the Cosby case and then that case ended up in his court. He refused to recuse himself and convicted Cosby. The list of court errors was long and convincing.

I think the previous case, where they gave him immunity if he ‘testified honestly’ in the Civil Court, was where the errors started.

That’s a liberals dream deal.

Just think... How was he given immunity for any criminal case, by testifying in a civil case.

Who was allowed to grant him such CRIMINAL immunity during a private civil case? Who has that authority?

He was absolutely right to take that deal. Immunity from posecution, and possibly spending decades in jail for raping OTHER women, by ‘testifying honestly’ in a civil lawsuit from one woman.

I am almost glad the prosecutor in this case ignored that deal and exposed him for the world to see. He might be the good guy in this case, by knowingly ignoring the previous deal.

it surprises me how many on Freerepublic trust the news about this case. Cosby is a clear example of how the deep state combined with news media can destroy a person by creating a narrative and then trying the person in the media.... hear is some food for thought about the case. those 60 women coming forward were creations of Gloria Aldred and none of them including five who were used to impugn Cosby were ever cross examined in court instead a statement from the civil case was read into the proceeding as a proof of prier bad acts.
