A man whose ingenious pop-up swimming pool kept the homeless cool during the recent heat wave was fatally stabbed in the same spot just one day later, according to Portland police.
Officers identified Tyson L. Morlock as the man who was found stabbed in the inner eastside Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood at Division Street and Southeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard around 3:37 a.m. on Thursday, July 1.
Despite life-saving efforts from paramedics, he died shortly thereafter in a nearby hospital, according to authorities.
Morlock, 27, had been interviewed the previous day, June 30, by a reporter on assignment for the Reuters news agency.
"There's not a lot of places you can go in the community where you can be safe," Morlock said, according to a tweet from the reporter, Sergio Olmos.

No decent honest America loving person wants to see the ChiComs take the country over to the fullest extent. But there are goodies in this, such as all those feral thugs doing their deeds for them will be executed along with the rest that cannot be reeducated.
Among the liberals who are just useful idiots, there’s a belief, promulgated by the media, that the homeless are just people without homes. They are regular folks who, through some turn of bad luck that’s no fault of their own, who have lost their home. While that may be true for a few of them, that percentage is vanishingly low. They are homeless because they are mentally ill, drug users, or alcoholics. Society is not doing them any favors by giving them free needles, food, medical care...the list is endless. But it’s like setting up a raccoon feeder. Shortly, you are inundated with raccoons and while one is tolerable, lots are not tolerable. I can say from personal business experience, if you have homeless lounging around or near your business you will soon be out of business.
If cities do not take action against this self-inflicted scourge, we will see new walled cities that can only be entered by permit. There will be fences and armed guards. The people who live in those compounds will not be paying taxes to the Democrat run $___ holes. We will be like South Africa where citizens drive armored cars when they leave their compounds. We’ll call ahead to our destination and log our planned route and arrival time. If we don’t keep to the schedule then armed patrols will be sent out to find us.
And this was not one of them…

This condescending form of charity is often all about the ego of the "do-gooder" person engaging in it ("Look at ME, I'm helping!") and recipients of this form of charity are demeaned
