Just look at our out of control FBI as a perfect example of a national police force.
There’s a reason the Founding Fathers made the personal Income Tax unconstitutional. Once implemented, the government is opposed to its constituents.
ALL POLITICS IS LOCAL, right ?
So get involved for everyone you know instead of whining and opining about hundreds of millions of people you never met, never WILL meet and corresponding to and with them does nothing for you, living on 123 Everyman's Main Street, USA.
Run, with passion for America's future, for your local school board
Norman Thomas was right. I think we’ve hit the slippery slope on totalitarianism, though.
We’re not yet socialist but we have long been authoritarian and the authoritarianism is getting worse.
Where this authoritarianism hits us first is when we interact with the government’s enforcers: law enforcement.
Over the past thirty years we’ve seen many if not most police departments morph into paramilitaries who no longer ‘serve and protect’ but who rule and control. Some sheriff’s departments have followed suit while other sheriff’s departments remain the community protectors they’ve always been.
It has become normal for police to force their way into people’s homes without a warrant, it has become normal for them to illegally demand ID from people as an intimidation tactic, it has become normal for police to use deadly force in typical traffic stops (see the Arkansas traffic stop last month), it has become normal for police to threaten and beat law abiding photographers in public even when said photographer is also a police officer.
Until we refuse to unconditionally “Back the Blue” unless the police obey the laws they enforce then we are conditioning America to submit to authoritarianism.
If we submit to tyranny in our neighborhoods then it’s all much easier to submit to tyranny in our state capitols and in Washington.
I hate to borrow a phrase from the leftists but if we are to put an end to the authoritarian state that will certainly facilitate a socialist nightmare then we must “Think Nationally and Act Locally”.
collectivists are in the wire
My blue dog Democrat neighbor told me last night that getting a Social Security check is socialism, because even if we pay into it, we are getting back more than we pay in. It is required though, so how do I opt out?
agreed, for several years now imho .
And what have you learned boys & girls in your truly socialist government owned & operated school?
By voting, people can get “free” K-12 education, “free” school lunches, “free” SNAP food benefits & “free” health care. They can also get highly subsidized (such as $170/month on a $1,500/month apartment) housing & child care. And they can even get “free” money - Joe Biden wants to give my mommy at least $3,000/year for each of her children.
That cheapskate Santa Claus fellow won’t get my vote.
And there’s no “from each according to his ability” requirement with Joe Biden and his Democrats. They aren’t Marxists or Communists. Why the Chinese Communist constitution requires those adults able to work to work.
Consider this, if most Americans really would vote for socialism, why does Deep State have to steal elections...?

Socialism has two key parts. The first is more important to leftists.
From the Socialist Party Platform of 1912:
“there will be and can be no remedy and no substantial relief except through Socialism under which industry will be carried on for the common good and every worker receive the full social value of the wealth he creates.”
“The collective ownership of land wherever practicable, and in cases where such ownership is impracticable, the appropriation by taxation of the annual rental value of all the land held for speculation and exploitation.”
“Political Demands
...
The adoption of a graduated income tax and the extension of inheritance taxes, graduated in proportion to the value of the estate and to nearness of kin....”

It’s becoming a communist country, masquerading as a democracy.
The state is inherently socialist, because it monopolizes and nationalizes the means of production of justice and security. By claiming the authority to tax—and by actually doing so—it proves that the state is the actual owner of the property being taxed, and of the labor of those taxed, and of the “means of production” used to earn the income that’s taxed. Only ownership would confer any right to exact rent or dividends.
There are differences of degree, but not of kind.
