I was curious about who would come after Pelosi if Biden and (for some reason) Harris are out. Holy Crap!!!! It's scary!!!!
Below is the current line of succession for the President of the United States:
1 Vice President Kamala Harris
2 Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi
3 President pro tempore of the Senate Patrick Leahy
4 Secretary of State Antony Blinken
5 Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen
6 Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin
7 Attorney General Merrick Garland
8 Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland
9 Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack
10 Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo
11 Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh
12 Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra
13 Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Marcia Fudge
14 Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg
–Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm
15 Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona
16 Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough
– Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas
Granholm and Mayorkas are ineligible for the presidency because they aren't a natural born citizen
The chance of even getting down to the Speaker is very slim.
Kiefer Sutherland being born in London is also ineligible. :)
At that time McCarthy will be speaker.
it would really be fun if he would step aside as speaker temporarily as DjT was voted into that position in preparation to ascension back to the WH.
It’s legal and possible, but would require immense support from house Rs, which doesn’t match voters enthusiasm for Trump. Evidence of voter fraud would also need to be irrefutable, and hugely damning to a diminished minority D house.
What a show that would be !
I just saw it mentioned the other day on FR.
It was Deep Impact.
1 Vice President Kamala Harris
A first! As a Jamaican citizen she could also run for Prime Minister of Jamaica! (Although I doubt she could win!)
(uh...wait....doesn’t that disqualify her for the U.S. Presidency???)
Gonna need a Cylon attack fleet to whittle it down to the Secretary of Education.
