A recent poll shows voters support Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the current 2024 Republican presidential nominee, assuming former President Donald Trump does not run.
The poll, conducted by Echelon Insights, fielded the responses of 1,001 registered voters from June 18 to June 22. Republican voters were asked, “If Donald Trump does NOT seek the Republican nomination for President in 2024 and the presidential primaries were being held today, for whom would you vote?”
DeSantis leads the pack, winning 21 percent of support. The Florida governor was followed by former Vice President Mike Pence at 14 percent, Donald Trump, Jr. at 7 percent, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley at 6 percent, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz at 6 percent.
Back in February at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), 55 percent of attendees indicated Trump was their preferred 2024 nominee. DeSantis came in at 21 percent. In a June straw poll at the Western Conservative Summit, DeSantis edged out Trump by 10 votes.
A report last month alleged a feud was brewing between the two political heavyweights over the Florida governor asking Trump to postpone a rally of his 200 miles from where bodies were excavated at the destroyed seaside condominium. DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw said shortly after the report was false.
“Contrary to inaccurate reporting based on anonymous sources, the governor never suggested canceling the event,” Pushaw said. “I’d also like to emphasize that there was never, at any time, a ‘plea’ from Gov. DeSantis or anyone on his team to cancel or postpone the rally. There was never a ‘feud’ either.”
Pence cant possibky have numbers that strong....
This isn’t about fun, you moron.
It’s about the future of our country.
Even after still not conceding?
President Trump keeping the concentration on himself means less time spent by the Dems on damaging DeSantis.
Let's get the House and Senate back in 2022, then look behind Door No. 1.
Thx
How many times have pack leaders this far out not even make it to the debates?
It is way to early. Of course, naming pack leaders at this stage only helps the media rack up resistance and destroy potential candidates before they become real threats.
I wish cruz would notice that nobody is interested in him running and work at keeping his seat in 2026. It will be a harder race then his 2 percent win in 2018.
Fla, do you really want to lose him as governor?
“Fla, do you really want to lose him as governor?”
NO!
NOPE!
NYET!
NEVER!
DeSantis is the only one electable.
Trump will wait and see how the 2022 election goes. The Rats will throw everything at DeSantis. If he prevails, he will be bulletproof for 2024.
If DeSantis were to get elected president the GOP would resist him like they did to Trump. The GOP only cares about protecting the interests of the Deep State.
Excellent
Two great joke masters in charge
Dims, progressives and communists (but I repeat myself) driven further into sploody head insanity.
Trump is my first choice because he exposed the swamp, took flak from the Left, and ignited the MAGA movement. DeSantis is old enough to wait his turn.
Young enough, I mean.
No we don’t.
President and Vice President can be from the same state, but would have to do it without the electoral votes of their home state...both of them are Floridians so that would not be a good idea to not have those 30 electoral votes.
Trump changed the usual political order; he chose Pence even tho Indiana is as reliably red as a state can be.
You’re an a-hole.
Trump &DeSantis for the win, then 8 years of desantis.
