DeSantis Leads The Pack In 2024 GOP Primary Poll Minus Trump

A recent poll shows voters support Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the current 2024 Republican presidential nominee, assuming former President Donald Trump does not run.

The poll, conducted by Echelon Insights, fielded the responses of 1,001 registered voters from June 18 to June 22. Republican voters were asked, “If Donald Trump does NOT seek the Republican nomination for President in 2024 and the presidential primaries were being held today, for whom would you vote?”

DeSantis leads the pack, winning 21 percent of support. The Florida governor was followed by former Vice President Mike Pence at 14 percent, Donald Trump, Jr. at 7 percent, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley at 6 percent, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz at 6 percent.

Back in February at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), 55 percent of attendees indicated Trump was their preferred 2024 nominee. DeSantis came in at 21 percent. In a June straw poll at the Western Conservative Summit, DeSantis edged out Trump by 10 votes.

A report last month alleged a feud was brewing between the two political heavyweights over the Florida governor asking Trump to postpone a rally of his 200 miles from where bodies were excavated at the destroyed seaside condominium. DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw said shortly after the report was false.

“Contrary to inaccurate reporting based on anonymous sources, the governor never suggested canceling the event,” Pushaw said. “I’d also like to emphasize that there was never, at any time, a ‘plea’ from Gov. DeSantis or anyone on his team to cancel or postpone the rally. There was never a ‘feud’ either.”

They’ll love him until he officially aligns with trump or he becomes the gop candidate. Then all the opposition research they’re doing right now and all the framing will come out. They’ll take him over the coals. Anyone who doesn’t see this has a serious personal and or family dysfunction caused by perpetual denial. Period

Trump is entitled to the nomination if he wants it. He’s the only one who demonstrated a willingness to fight. God help any others who think they’re better.

All the leaders but not counting Trump-—the real leader.

That’s like the economic measures of inflation “not counting the volatile food and fuel sectors in the numbers.”
So food and fuel are now free of charge? Yay.

The democrats and the lamestream media (same thing) are working overtime to manufacture a feud between Trump and DeSantis. I have no trouble supporting both. If and when they both announce that they are running for President, I will decide which one to support over the other. If they both run for the Republican nomination, I will have no trouble voting for whichever one gets the nomination in the general election.

If Biden is still around in 2024 (which is doubtful) or if Kamala Harris is the democrat nominee, I will have no problem voting for anyone who gets the Republican nomination. I held my nose and voted for Romney against Obama in 2012. I can hold my nose and vote for just about anyone against Biden or Harris.

Until November 8, 2022, I am going to focus on how to remove the democrats from control of Congress, the state legislatures, and the state governorships. After the 2022 election I will start thinking about who to support in the 2024 election.

Sounds good to me. Let’s have a Trump/DeSantis ticket in 2024. Let’s not recycle Mike Pence as the running mate. Let DeSantis be that running mate.

The other day I was thinking how sweet it would be if the GOP takes the House in 2022, votes for Trump as the Speaker, and then watching on FNC or Newsmax, the video of Pelosi handing the gavel over to Trump.

She’ll probably call in sick.

Your efforts are misguided. You should focus on removing every RINO who must face a primary in 2022, especially in the state legislatures, who gave the Steal to Biden on a platter. If the number of republicans in office in 2020 had been the exact same except with America First patriots instead of RINOs, then Trump would easily be in his second term.
