Trump files a class-action lawsuit against Facebook, [...] and calls for punitive damages for 'cancel culture' victims

Former President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday he was launching a class action law suit against Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Google CEO Sundar Pichai on behalf of victims of 'cancel culture.'

He demanded the end of 'shadow banning,' and 'blacklisting' as he stood in the blazing sun, using his Bedminster golf course clubhouse as a backdrop.

'In addition, we are asking the court to impose punitive damages on these social media giants,' he said. 'We're going to hold big tech very accountable.'

Trump will serve as the lead plaintiff in the suit, claiming he has been wrongfully censored, he added.

His lawyers say they will argue that Congress has frequently pressured Big Tech to take action on conservatives, making them 'agents of government' and therefore subject to the First Amendment.

The legal moves are backed by the America First Policy Institute, a non-profit that includes several former senior administration officials.

Trump accused the mainstream media and politicians of cozying up to big tech.

'There is no better evidence that big tech is out of control than the fact that they banned the sitting President of the United States earlier this year, a ban that continues to this day,' he said.

He contrasted his position with hate speech coming from Iran and Palestinian hardliners.

'Hamas, as I said, the greatest killers in the world, have a site,' he said, saying the tweet that got him banned was innocuous.

'Get the quote, you won't believe it.

'But these people call for the destruction of Israel, the destruction of the USA, nothing happens to them.'

This Lawsuit is a good first step. Keep in mind that the companies being sued are merely attack dogs carrying out the whim of their real master. The Swamp will simply get some other dogs to carry out their censorship .

I’m no fan of Mark Suckerberg, but I don’t see this case going anywhere. Everyone agrees to FB’s terms and conditions when they sign up for an account. Freedom of speech does not extend to the right to compel a private business to publish your speech. If it did, failed authors could make millions in lawsuits against publishers who rejected their work.

I think where the Big Tech companies have a problem is with the revelation the Biden campaign approached the companies during the election and asked for Facebook, Twitter, et al to “censor” Trump and his campaign. That may trump (no pun intended) their ability to relay on their 230 protection.

Even though there may not have been any action taken adversely against the Trump campaign, the conversation itself could cause a problem for the Tech companies.

Why would a judge stick their out for Trump when his own party won’t? The bipartisan nature of the years long coup is completely obvious to all in the judiciary. The judiciary isn’t going to suddenly start supporting the rule of law after 5 years of support for the coup. I wish is what different but it is what it is.

Ordinarily, I would agree with you. But information is coming out in a drip...drip...drip. that the MSM and the Judiciary cannot ignore. Look at the polling. Most Americans don’t believe Biden is running the show. The Dems have done a 180 on de-funding the police.

The elites are slowly beginning to realize the vast majority of Americans aren’t buying what they’re selling.

The judiciary can throw the Tech companies under the bus as long as they can find a way to protect their precious Democrats.

Mid-terms are looming. Polling isn’t going well. They need to find a scapegoat. Enter Big Tech. As long as they have the media, they can still try and control the narrative.
