Jessica Springsteen, the daughter of rock star Bruce Springsteen, has been selected for the Tokyo Olympics show jumping team, the U.S. equestrian team announced Monday.
Springsteen and her 12-year-old stallion, Don Juan van de Donkhoeve, will be part of a four-member squad that also includes McLain Ward, Kent Farrington and Laura Kraut.
Ward has helped the U.S. to gold in the team jumping event at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics and a silver medal winner along with Farrington at the 2016 Rio Games.
Kraut was also part of the 2008 Beijing gold-medal squad.
The 29-year-old Springsteen was an alternate at the 2012 London Summer Games but failed in her bid to make the 2016 Rio Games.

Personally, i don't care about this story other than to once again point out the utter liberal hypocrisy. Bruce Springsteen, who i detest, a left wing disciple of social justice, liberal causes, blah-blah-blah, will be cheering for his daughter who participates in the whitest of sports (except the horses) in which she was selected to participate.

A real man of the people, that Bruce.

Maybe she can place some American flags on the course to trample over. Then her father will be proud.

Not to take away from Jessica Springsteen's riding abilities but it helps an awful lot when your Dad can buy you a ready made horse whose price tag keeps him out of most rider's reach. I've competed against a lot of “ready-to-show” competitors and it sucks.

The picture of her is terrible. Can she yank on that horses mouth any more?

Tramps like her were born to run...

Bruce Springsteen, who i detest, a left wing disciple of social justice, liberal causes, blah-blah-blah, will be cheering for his daughter who participates in the whitest and RICHEST of sports (except the horses) in which she was selected to participate. FIFY. If this super rich ultraliberal had to live under the policies he espouses he would commit suicide.

Springsteen is emblamatic of his beloved Democrat Party. Almost to an exclusion they have become the Party of the fat, rich bluebloods who trample on everyone else and call it necessary.

The one buckle I won in my short lived cutting career was on a $6500 horse competing again $100000+ horses. I actually still wear it on occasion. 😎

Our daughter did, too. She was up against Charles Schwab’s daughter in some meets. What those people pay for a horse would buy a very nice house.

I give Bruce points for financing his daughter’s career in an expensive sport so she can take her chances. Just rich dad stuff, no preaching or posturing required.

This is how my Daddy (got rest his soul) used to define horse shows:
A place where the horses show their arses and the horse's arses show their horses.

Money talks. None of these “sports” include real competitors. This is just affirmative action for the rich.

Bruce Springsteen, the woke voice of the working-man, and his dressage horses!
I’m reminded of the controversy when the band U2, lovers of all squishy leftist sentiments and statist political causes, moved their tax home from Ireland to the Netherlands to save $$ several million per year.
Its their money, they should keep it - but hyprocrites should not be let off the hook.

Very true. Wealthy kids were always getting these horses shipped in from other countries, trained and ready to go, and blowing away the local competition. I don’t know that this is the case here, but it’s certainly common.

You don’t usually think of him as part of the equestrian set.
