As a break from political and other drudgery, I did a little "OHI snooping" -- associated with the new USG report actually admitting that "UAP" must actually exist, because they're detectable and recordable on a wide variety of US military "sensor systems".
And, since the report implies that some "UAP" might actually be based on some of US's "advanced" technologies that we haven't yet revealed -- I took another look at places where those technologies might be tested.
For starters, I looked about midway between Groom Lake/"Area 51" -- and the heavily-cratered valley of the "NTS" (Nevada [Nuclear' Test Site). Specifically, I "re-visited" a "WTF?" "dead end of the road" site with two 100' square "pads" -- "in the middle of nowhere" atop a mountain range.
But, this time, I found something that may explain why those VTOL-only pads are there -- and, also, how they may be used for testing "exotic technology craft".
Check out the serendipitous "twilight" satellite image I featured in this FR post -- and consider that there have been long-rumored "hangars cut into mountainsides -- with doors camouflaged to match the mountain terrain." in the general "Papoose Lake" area...

I don't know, but I can certainly imagine something better than Microsoft. Back in the early '70s, under DARPA funding, MIT and GE developed a truly secure OS called Multics, a play on words of the then- and still-popular Unix. Compared to Windows or MacOS, it had the advantage that the underlying hardware was secure, unlike the Intel and Motorola processors. But it basically disappeared. It was sold off to hapless Honeywell, who killed it and buried it. It could easily have been migrated into a secure desktop system within a few years of the appearance of Windows and MacOS. And something like it could be revived now.
I think the powers-that-be didn't want a secure operating system. They wanted the ability to penetrate anybody's computer system at will, so they promoted Windows over any secure alternative.
I expect the new regime to be more respectful of people's privacy.
