The Great Lakes are a good distance from Detroit.
I doubt many victims were black. But ya never know, I guess.

Did people forget how to swim after being locked up for the past year?

The Great Lakes are racist or it was climate change or maybe both.

Massachusetts has had a surge in drownings as well.

People more careless without any future certainties? Without a year of swimming practice due to lockdowns? Fewer swimming lessons yhrough the same?

Per usual in MA lots of young males and disproportionately black.

A lot of city people are clueless about big water. You need safety equipment and life jackets always. Anything from Walmart that’s inflatable is not for the Great Lakes, period.

Swimming with masks on is a good way tire and to drown.

I have noticed that people who can’t swim or never did much swimming always seem to think it’ll come to them. So they go for it.

Of course they learn it does not just come to them.

I had no idea there were so many drownings in the Great Lakes. I guess it’s rougher there than I knew.
