The GETTR account creation process requires an email address to which a verification code is sent. I tried both my yahoo and gmail email accounts and never received the code. Had to create a new ProtonMail account, after which the code was received almost immediately.
Others evidently are having the same problem: https://www.uncomanor.com/articles/gettr-may-have-been-shadowbanned
What’s GETTR?
I think the site is a scam. Please read the many FR posts on the topic today. The site references Google privacy and terms instead of their own—at least earlier today—and has many fake Trump accounts. The @RealDonaldTrump keeps getting created and deleted. Look at the posts within these and it is obvious these are not from Trump. The whole site is an embarrassment. Plus, it is so close to a knock-off of Twitter that I suspect that if it were real, it’ll be tied up with lawsuits, block, and all rather quickly.
Couple posts about it in the news and chat forums.
I’m going to hang back ad let things settle. And in the meantime do some more digging.
The site is not a scam. It does not go LIVE until Sunday afternoon, July 4th.
I tried too. Saw “google privacy” at the bottom. Decided, “no thanks.”

Have tried several times to receive activation codes to no avail.
I think President Trump ought to stick with Gab and his press releases.
Also, I gather this is a platform established by Jason Miller, which doesn’t inspire much confidence to its authenticity and legitimacy. Miller came out the morning after the election was stolen claiming that all would be resolved in 72 hours . . .
Yeah, right. By then the site will be so discredited as to be DOA. I’m sorry, you don’t get a do-over on debut. They should not have opened it to apparent live operation until they were ready, especially without any notice if it wasn’t intended to be used yet. Further, why are they using and were linking Google Terms and Policy on page footer? Why were they using Google technology in the first place? And the many fake Trump accounts? Overall, better to conclude this is all a scam than to think this is the best competence that this group of folks and sponsors can come up with. It is all an embarrassing fiasco.
It stands for “GET TRAPPED”.
Until DJT or his team gets behind it, and AFAIK they have not, I wouldn’t go near it with a 17 foot pole.
Not mentioned by DJT, Flynn, Wood, Powell, Lindell, Giuliani, Jr, Melania, ...
But it is accepting registrations... The connections to Google are the concern. Why would they not accept Gmail addresses yet use Google 3rd party API services and Google TOS?
There is definitely a contradiction there. It makes no sense. I haven’t figured out why yet but digging more.
I had the same problem so I wrote to help. I tried 2 different emails.
What’s GETTR?
———————————
It’s google-based. It’s a waste of time. It’s full of bugs and it’s hard to login and sign in. It’s doomed to fail like so many previous social media websites.
Sounds like a CIA domestic surveillance operation to me.
Well... it does take awhile to work the bugs out of a new site. Been there many times...
But there is something strange with this one so far.
Tried to create an account but registration is closed now.
It’s Gmail that is blocking GETTR, not the other way around.
I just signed up for a free protonmail account and got the code right away.
Really? Is that why you promoted Trump rallies, all scripts written by Miller?:
"According to the press pool schedule for POTUS tomorrow, he starts the first of four PA events @Noon in Newton with a MAGA speech, then has three rallies as follows.3 posted on 10/30/2020, 10:47:19 PM by edie1960

- 5:30 in Butler

Jason Miller did more for Constitutional Conservatism in his first hour as Trump's speechwriter and senior adviser than you will do if you live to be 112.
