A woman facing prison for causing one of the worst crashes in the history of the Tour de France has been arrested after four days on the run.
The suspect – who has not been identified – was arrested today and is now in custody in the small Brittany town of Landerneau. She lives in the Finistere department of Brittany, in which Landerneau is situated, according to an investigating source.
‘She did not have far to travel to get to the race, and clearly knew how to escape after causing so much damage,’ he said.
‘Numerous witnesses were interviewed, and camera footage was also inspected in order to track the suspect down.
‘Now that she has been caught, she has to be questioned at length, to find out exactly what her motives were.’
Prosecutors launched a criminal inquiry following the collapse of an entire peloton on Saturday, when 21 cyclists including Britain’s Chris Froome were seriously hurt.

She had no motive other than to hold her sign up. This was an accident urine sample. Should she be responsible? Probably. But so should the organizers for letting the fans get that close. She should not beear the whole responsibility. It is obvious she had no criminal intent.
I said “pure and simple.” Back to work. Ha ha. I hate voice to text. You think I would know better by now.
By the way, road cyclists near me have no fear of death.

“And the sign says “Long-haired freaky people need not apply”
So I put my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said you look like a fine outstanding young man, I think you’ll do
So I took off my hat, I said “Imagine that, huh, me working for you”
Signs, signs, everywhere there’s signs
Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign”
Has anyone interviewed her grandparents? I can’t wait to hear what they think of their historic hello wishes.
Her motive?
Yeah, I’m sure she’ll tell the truth...
/s
‘...but she is the only one being charged...
probably it is because she was the only one of those non-barriered people who actually contacted the riders and caused the fracas, but that’s pure conjecture on my part...
And the sign said “Long-haired freaky people...will be shot on sight.”
So I jumped on the fence and yelled at the man--
(GUNFIRE SOUND EFFECT: BANG BANG BANG)
Signs, signs, everywhere there’s signs
(CONTINE THE CHORUS)
Or, See you next Fall
*snickering*
Ha! So they need to put the woman AND her grandparents in prison! Because if it weren't for them this awful tragedy would never have happened!
:)
Lol! That’s good.
Doubt it will work, though. Because long-haired freaky people would much rather stay home collecting $20/hour than go to work. In fact, they’d rather do most anything than go to work.
‘That guy couldn’t keep the bike upright after hitting a chunk of cardboard?’
have you ever ridden a bicycle at speeds close to 25 mph surrounded on one side by spectators and and the others by cyclists inches from you, all going at the same speed...?
maneverability is at a premium in the peloton...
I doubt she will have the same smile on her face when she faces prison time for being a ‘hey look at me’ doofus.
There is zero barrier between the bikers and the crowd. That’s stupid. And it’s not her fault. And yeah, what she did was stupid too, but she is the only one being charged.
You might want to take a little time to educate yourself about how the preparation is done. This year the course is 3,484.2 km (2,165 mi)Are you demanding that they barricade the entire route? They certainly do that in most towns and at key points but barricading the entire course is ridiculous.

I suppose I could blame the rider rather than the Tour itself. But I don’t think she should be charged with anything unless they can prove her action was deliberate and designed to cause what it caused. Either that or, yes, they need to control the entire course. BTW, I have a rather large collection of Tour DVD’s and Bluerays. It’s fun to watch them while on the training bike.
Yeah...spandex should be outlawed. Especially for homos!
