Royal Caribbean International said on Tuesday it would require unvaccinated guests over 12 years of age traveling from Florida to show proof of insurance that covers COVID-19 related medical expenses, quarantine and evacuation.

Ironically, it’s the vaccinated who need insurance. Some insurance companies have clearly defined that they will not cover vaccine harm because the vaccine is experimental. Others are still silent as the CDC has not admitted to vaccine harm YET. This is how they mean to keep claims of harm from reaching the public - by withholding medical coverage.
It’s not enough though, many are no longer able to work and medical coverage doesn’t cover their losses.
The Cruise Ship will not require you to prove vaccination but if you don't claim it, and prove it, you will be treated as an unvaxed passenger, and have to pay more money for tests, and will be limited on shore excursions and treated like a second class passenger onboard. - Tom
Maybe Royal Caribbean could offer some proof that this year unlike the last 10 years they won’t give any of their passengers food poisoning. I’ll show them proof of insurance if they can prove there is no poop in the salad.
Why bother?
Just a way of getting around De Santis’ prohibition of COVID passports while keeping the needed business at Port Canaveral, Miami, etc.
DIIIIIEEEEEE, CORRRPORRRAAAAATE SCUUUUMMMMMM!!!
Coronavirus PING!
If you are unvaxed, butlerweave sums it up in his post #19. ---Tom
We always buy Allianz Travel insurance. It covers being airlifted by helicopter.
sounds fair. If a traveler visiting foreign ports chooses not to be vaccinated, then take personal responsibility for that decision, including financial responsibility.
But I’d imagine that seasoned cruise line travelers would have lifeflight and health insurance that covers treatment in foreign countries anyway, be it covid or cooties. If any foreign port-of-call hospitals admit foreign citizens for free (besides the US that is), that would sure be news.
All of this red tape makes sense if it is a ship pulling out of some war-torn country somewhere where there is not enough room on board for everyone who wants to embark.
That a company could put this kind of red tape up and still get people willing to pay extra for the privilege of spending their cruise in steerage is really an indictment of this country's cruising class.
Is there a way to medically determine whether you have been vaccinated?
I guess RCL hates their customers and is hoping to drive them away. Morons. Hope they go out of business.
It looks like resistance from the unvaxed may be a factor in filling the Cruise ships in the future.
Below is a statement from a cruise writer onboard the Celebrity Edge for the first trip out of the USA in over a year. - Tom
"In all, only around two dozen passengers on board have not been vaccinated, and nearly all of those are children under the age of 12 who are not eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine."
Thanks!
Its 72 hours and only the unvaxxed have to get tested...

There are two things wrong with that.
1. They are not allowed by state law to ask for your vaccination records.
2. Vaccinated people can and do get COVID-19 as well as the unvaccinated.
The law doesnt start until Thursday July 1st...Carnival got around that for their July cruises by sending all the July passengers an EMail last week which had to be answered at once...if there was no answer their cruise was cancelled...
One question Are you vaccinated Yes/No with a drop down Exempted/Under 12
My cruise is August 14...We havent received any EMail as yet...
Im hanging on to see what happens...Unless youre an insider you can only guess the mess that has happened ...

Oh brother. Thanks for that update. I had no idea. Good luck with your cruise.
Crazy, isn’t it?
