The shooting that killed two Black people Saturday in Winthrop, Massachusetts, is now being investigated as a hate crime.
Investigators found the 28-year-old gunman had made "some troubling white supremacist rhetoric" that targeted Black and Jewish people before he killed two people, including a retired state trooper. The gunman, identified by Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins Sunday as Nathan Allen, was quickly killed by police officers.
The victims were identified Sunday as David Green, a 58-year-old retired Massachusetts State Police officer, and Ramona Cooper, a 60-year-old Air Force veteran.
The rampage erupted in quiet Winthrop, a small city across Boston Harbor from Boston Logan International Airport, before 3 p.m.
Police arrived on the scene of what they thought was a traffic accident -- the man crashed a stolen plumbing truck into a building, injuring two other people in the process, before he opened fire on the two victims.

Because they finally found one of those very rare incidents where a white person kills black people. Can’t let that go to waste.
Yes, it’s ridiculous. The article mentions that he had supposedly written something anti-Semitic and therefore the “[spokesperson] speculated that he may have been trying to reach the Jewish temples in the neighborhood” with the stolen truck. Pretty broad speculation.
And as for the people he shot after he crashed, he had no way of knowing who was going to be in or around that building, and obviously just shot whoever it was easiest to hit.
Don’t get me wrong, this is a terrible thing and I’m sure the guy was nuts and obviously very full of irrational anger and was probably on a suicide mission. It would have been nice if an armed citizen could have prevented him from stealing the truck in the first place.
But to try to fit it into the “white nationalist terrorist” narrative is intentional manipulation of the facts based on nothing but “supposition” from the same group of folks who are still “looking for motives” when somebody screams Allahu Akbar and kills a crowd of non-Muslims.
But ideology-based “supposition” is apparently the new facticity of the left.
The gunman "walked by several other people that were not Black and they are alive. They were not harmed," Rollins said.Rollins had no knowledge of the gunman before the attack. He had a license to carry firearms, which means he'd passed a background check, she said.
In fact, the man had a Ph.D. and no criminal history, Rollins said in a statement Sunday evening.
"To all external sources he likely appeared unassuming. And then, yesterday afternoon he stole a box truck, crashed it into another vehicle and a property, walked away from the wreckage interacting with multiple individuals and choosing only to shoot and kill the two Black people he encountered," she wrote, noting that racism-driven violence is on the rise in the U.S.
"This individual wrote about the superiority of the white race. About whites being ‘apex predators.’ He drew swastikas," Rollins wrote.
Obviously if the murderer actually wrote what Ms. Rollins says he did then he was mentally ill. Normal adults don't sit around drawing swastikas. That behavior seems reserved for the mentally ill and leftist hate crime fakers.
It is almost as if the left keeps a stable of lunatics, ready to act out their talking points.
Here is an article from Heavy about the murderer. He must be mentally ill, and something triggered his behavior. His history certainly doesn't support how he is portrayed by the DA.
