I have great respect for both Senators Kennedy and Paul; but Kennedy is correct in this argument. Kennedy isn't trying to 'force' anyone to leave Afghanistan - he is in favor of giving them the choice and help to leave if they think that is best for them.
We are allowing many thousands of people to enter our country illegally, and setting them free in the US, without knowing anything about them individually. We should certainly be able to accommodate people who have proven themselves to be our allies:

Afghanistan (and Iran) were very moderate and Western-oriented in the 1970s. If they want to be ruled by Islamic extremists who cares?
You don’t seem to understand that the ones Kennedy hopes to save are the ones who DON’T want their country turned into a craphole.
You, like Paul, can suggest that they should stay and fight; but they have already taken their lives in their hands to aid US. Now, with our leaving, they are, as Kennedy forcefully maintained, in danger of being butchered.
I just wish our army would train and arm a whole lot of women before they bug out.
If they don’t want their country to be turned into a craphole they should organize and overthrow their government. We don’t need those type people here.
Iran declared war on us as soon as they turned extremist. The present White House occupant is endeavoring to give them the means of accomplishing their stated goal of destroying us. That certainly matters a great deal, and to the survival of carbon-based lifeforms on this planet as a whole.

This country doesn’t need any more third worlders. They’re a burdon on our economy. No more refugees and illegals. If they truly want their country to change they’ll do it or sacrifice themselves trying.
