CHICAGO - Tensions became heated Friday evening when Newsmax reporter William Kelly asked Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot about violent crime in the city.
According to data, more than 300 people have been shot and killed in Chicago this year. More than 1,500 have been shot and wounded.
When Kelly pressed Lightfoot on the apparent surge in violent crime, the mayor said he had his facts wrong.

On Monday, Mayor Lightfoot – who promised to reduce Chicago’s bloody street violence – said this month has been less violent than last year in June.
"We are seeing a downward trajectory, where other cities are continuing to see a climb," Lightfoot said.
2021 is so far Chicago’s deadliest year in more than a decade.

I am rather impressed Lightfoot knew that word ‘trajectory’.
Lori has responded by asking the City Council to approve a searchlight for the skyline that projects a “bat” symbol on it.
Just imagine if Beetlejuice were Mayor of Wakanda.

We are witnessing a significant increase in Chicago street violence, yes. But in the greater scheme of things, Chicago is not a war zone. 2.5 million plus is it’s population. The chances of being shot if you choose to enter its boundaries? I’ll let a statistician crunch the numbers. In the end it does not warrant the breathless hyperbole that has reporters crawling all over themselves for a “gotcha” moment on the clueless Beetlejuice.

Politicians are there to proliferate problems, not solve them. That applies to both parties. We could resolve many quite easily, but the Derp State (and their private sector allies) doesn’t want them to be. They’re the single greatest threat to our nation and our very existence.
