The actual racing begins at about the 3:25 mark in the video. Before that is a tribute to one of their own who recently passed away from cancer, a rare woman drag racer who had driven a cool 1955 Chevy gasser called “Flower Power”. Her name was Cynthia Phillips. If you are at all familiar with this organization you would surely know who she is. May she forever RIP.

Painted a 68 Camaro for a buddy of mine in FL. Bright red with Yenko style wrap around the from stripe. He didn’t need wheelie bars but ran low 10s with a 327 small block.

I don’t know how rare girl racers are. Some few years ago Hot Rod magazine did a retrospective “Women in Racing” and there were quite a few of the even way back in the 60s. I guess they weren’t winning a lot of races but they were out there feeding their need for speed.
