Australian MPs To Biden: Free Julian Assange
In a new video, a cross-party group of 11 Australian members of Parliament tell the U.S. president that the Australian publisher of WikiLeaks should not be punished for his work and that all charges against him should be dropped.

In a one minute, 30 second video message to U.S. President Joe Biden, 11 Australian politicians from across the political spectrum have appealed to the U.S. Government to drop its Espionage Act and computer intrusion charges against Australian citizen, Julian Assange.
The MPs and Senators have urged President Biden to take the “opportunity for urgent reconsideration,” following a U.K. court’s decision to deny the U.S. extradition request, rendered earlier this year.
Assange is currently held in HMP Belmarsh, a high security London prison, pending a High Court ruling on whether the U.S. may appeal against the U.K. refusal to extradite. He is detained for publishing activity that won him Australia’s highest journalistic honor, the Walkley Award for most Outstanding Contribution to Journalism.
The Australian politicians warn that Assange’s prosecution threatens journalists worldwide.
Susan Templeman, MP, Australian Labor Party (ALP) said: “Citizens expect us to protect journalists and publishers, not to imprison them for their work.”
Senator Carol Brown ALP added: “The world’s leading human rights and press freedom groups are unequivocally denouncing the charges against [Julian Assange]. And we join them.”
Senator Peter Whish-Wilson, Australian Greens, told Biden: “Australian citizens want Julian Assange to be free.”
Peter Khalil MP, ALP, noted: “Indeed, one of the largest petitions in Australia’s history, with over 600,000 signatures, has been tabled in the Australian Parliament, calling on the US to free Assange.”
Julian Hill MP, ALP, who has spoken in parliament about Assange, appeals to the UK: “We are imploring the British government to release him from prison, and send him home.”

The Trump Organization and its chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg have been indicted and charged with tax-related crimes.
Weisselberg, 73, who began working for Donald Trump's father Fred in 1973, will appear in court on Thursday, two sources told The Washington Post.
His charges are related to the failure to pay taxes on benefits obtained as part of his work for Trump.

I have been taking collagen powder in my breakfast for almost a year to help with my foot and boost my bone density. I can’t tell yet about the bone density but it seems to help the joint pain in my ankle and foot. It also unexpectedly helps with acid reflux and digestion when my allergies are bad.
Sorry I didn’t get back to this last night but the computer was off and it’s a pain to post on my tablet. My husband has had his days and nights mixed up this week and I went to bed early. His prowling the house at night keeps me awake.
I started with the two doses, one dose two days apart in one week. After that I have been taking one dose on Wednesday. Since it’s so hot now I plan to stop unless I know I have been exposed or some other reason I feel I need to do prevention. This new variant doesn’t worry me and the original covid seems to have gone away around here.

Personal anecdote: I have two smallpox scars. One is from my childhood vaccination and the other is from when I had to have the vaccination again in 1977 in order to enter Colombia. I was told that the second one would “not take” because I had been vaccinated as a child. It was a very nasty sore which finally scabbed over during my 3-week visit.
I’m 66 and was vaccinated as a small child but I remember my mom and doctor talking about it was the only one I’d ever need. Recently I read online that people that had it back then probably had enough immunity to combat another smallpox outbreak. I don’t overly fear things like flu, covid, etc. even though at my age with asthma they can get extremely nasty and even life threatening but nothing we have around today compares to smallpox in my opinion. I remember people that had smallpox and polio. Covid is a nasty cold compared to those two.
