A man who lived "completely isolated" in the forests of Vietnam with his dad for 41 years had no idea women existed, according to reports.
Ho Van Lang's extraordinary story began when he fled civilisation at the end of the Vietnam War in 1972 when a US bomb killed his mum and two siblings.
Lang, now 46, his brother Tri and his dad resettled deep in the jungle in the Tay Tra district of Quang Ngai province.
The trio lived entirely off the wilderness, eating honey, fruit and forest creatures, building shelters and fending for themselves.
Alvaro Cerezo, a photographer who tracked the family down back in 2015, said: "They always escaped when they saw people from a distance."

I remember reading some story about the Russian Family and how they knew about certain technology because they saw planes fly over during the day and lights at night. Somehow they lived near the path for space debris to fall when the Russians launched things into space the parts that fell back to earth many of them would fall near where they lived....
Well I have to say I was raised in rural America in a very small town. There were many things I wasn’t aware of until I moved to a larger community and was stunned seeing all I did. We thought it was a big deal to go out of town to a Pizza place!
That life was a very sheltered life but you don’t realize it growing up. I’ve lived in several cities now and I’ll still say it’s better country living any day than city without question.
He looked happy with puppy.
I’m not sure happy registers as we might see it as. He was smiling most of the time. His caretaker said in another video he cannot tell the difference between good and bad. He’s surely stunted mentally and likely emotinally as well.
I bet the local animals lived a nervous existence.
Sometimes you have to wonder if bringing “primitives” into the modern world is a good idea or not.
I watched some show about tribes in the Amazon who have had “no outside contact, ever” so they haul off and fly planes over their villages, terrifying them and forcing them to scatter to some other briefly “unknown location”.
I can only imagine how I would feel if some bunch of people grabbed me and dragged me to a city because they thought it would be a better place and life for me.
“Not knowing the difference between good and bad”...maybe he should avoid apples and snakes.
I reckon now that they have taken him to “their world”, they’ll teach him as much as he’s able to learn about such things.
“Real-life Tarzan lived in jungle without knowing women existed for 41 years”
They stopped existing in the US once the ‘feminist’ movement started.
“But apparently his dad still has ‘profound phobia of returning [to normal life] as he did not believe that the Vietnam War was over’ and hopes to return to the jungle one day.”
They should let him go.
I bet it was quiet
But it’s America’s fault !
So everything he did wasn’t wrong?
my goodness, think of all the coconuts he defiled.
If he makes a mistake and there are no women around, is he still wrong?
So, he had no memory of his mother and his brother and father never mentioned her. Unlikely.
And he saw there male and female jungle animals but never made the connection. Again, unlikely.
Math is racis'. The answer is whatever feels good.
Hmm good Vietnamese name/s
From the story, “If I asked Lang to beat someone, he would do it severely.” Hmmm...
Amazing, the intuitive knowledge that Asians have of driving.
