Agreed...Been looking for data on the vaccines' effectiveness with little success for days. I've seen some Cleveland Clinic info that I did link in earlier threads. Everything else seems to be a hot pro or con approach without much hard data--lots of conjecture... Thanks again.

But common sense establishes a causal link since in any normal year vaccine deaths (with almost half the population taking a flu vaccine) are around 150 to 200. This year they are 5479 already.

I think it's a result of the Covid vaccine being new and the subject of such scrutiny.

If someone dies of a heart attack two days after getting the flu vaccine it's very unlikely to be reported to VAERS since the flu vaccine is known to be safe and no one would associate the death with the vaccination.

With Covid vaccines, on the other hand, people are hyper-aware and any health problem in reasonable proximity to the shot is much more likely to be reported to VAERS.

That's one weakness of a self reporting system - many factors influence what gets reported and there really aren't any standards.

I do agree that it is.

Yeah, I've read somewhere that it was guesstimated that maybe VAERS only gets 1 in 10 deaths reported. But I am not positive that figure is correct or in the context of death as opposed to other kinds of reports. Supposing that the figure accurate for deaths, and supposing that in the case of Covid-19 vaccines we actually have 100% reporting, then we still don't account for the size of the difference...and that is being ridiculously generous to this angle I think.

Should clarify, when I said "I do believe that it is" I mean that I do believe that Covid-19 safety is getting more attention than regular flu vaccines. I do not agree that this is a plausible explanation for the size of the difference...although I accidently implied I agreed to that too.

The difference is so huge, look at it this way. What the hell is VAERS for? I mean really. If we can ignore a THIRTY TIME increase in deaths without turning red in the face--why even gather the data?
